Coffee Shop AU/The Big Damn Kiss
Routine was an unwanted result of working at the coffee shop. Otabek saw the same people every day. They came in at the same time. They ordered the same drinks. Otabek knew most people in the area since they were always coming into the shop as regulars. It wasn’t bad, just a little dull. But you did whatever you had to do to make a little money. It might’ve been a boring life, but at least he was good at what he did. If he wasn’t, the customers wouldn’t come back as often as they did.
Still, because of the routine he’d quickly gotten used to, Otabek could easily note when there was someone new in the shop. It was especially obvious as he watched a grumpy looking blond boy in leopard print being dragged into the shop by a red head, her arm wrapped loosely around his shoulders as she laughed about something, what it was, he couldn’t be sure.
As they made their way to the counter, the red head slipped the hood off the blond’s head, earning a glare in return. Otabek gave his usual smile reserved for all customers, “Good afternoon, what would you like today?”
The young woman’s smile was warm and friendly, “I’ll have a mocha. He’ll have a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows,” She gently ruffled his blond hair as she spoke.
The blond pulled away, glaring at her, “I’m not a kid! I want a coffee, too.”
“You don’t like coffee. You think it’s too bitter,” She stared pointedly at the blond, “You call it dirt water.”
She received nothing more than a grumble in response, the boy lifting his hood back up and averting his eyes. Otabek smiled to himself as he wrote down their order, “Take a seat, I’ll bring it right over.”
They were already walking to an empty table before Otabek could think much more of the exchange. And only moments later, the blond boy was making his way back over to the counter, this time on his own. He averted his eyes at first, staring down at the counter, “So uh, here’s the deal,” Otabek watched him curiously, “My friend doesn’t think I have the guts to do something so could you just... play along? I swear, I’ll give you a good tip.”
And suddenly those eyes were trained on him, intense, piercing emerald eyes filled with determination, and Otabek knew there was no way in the world he could possibly say no. Instead, he simply nodded hesitantly, “Uh, okay...”
Otabek didn’t have any time to react as he felt himself pulled forward, lips pressed against his own that were surprisingly soft and gentle from someone who seemed so full of rage. Otabek had been so used to his routine, but suddenly this boy had walked into his life, grumpy and adorable, and with eyes so intense they’d struck a chord inside him. Otabek soon found himself giving into the gentle press of their lips.
He wasn’t sure how long the kiss lasted, only that the stranger’s face was red when he pulled away, quickly rushing back to the table he and his friend had chosen. Otabek watched in awe as the red head giggled into her hands, and decided to do something he’d never done before.
Finishing their orders, he grabbed a sharpie, writing carefully on the side of the hot chocolate’s cup,

I found you through youtube recommending that I listen to your song "Say." I have to say that the song is absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to hear the final, polished version! I was wondering if you have sheet music that you'd be willing to share? I'm planning a Kima cosplay (after I finish my Pike cosplay) and I want to try talking my friend that cosplays Allura into learning this duet with the intention of possibly filming it and making a video.
Hi there! Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m really happy that you liked the song so much. As it happens, I composed the song on ukulele, so I only really have uke chords to share, but here you take a look here! Have fun, and let me know if you have any questions! :D

Summer Camp AU/Almost Kiss
There were very few people Otabek spoke to, but the one he wanted to spend all his time with was a particular grumpy blond. It was strange to most people, since Yuri Plisetsky was what could only be described as an ‘acquired taste’. Otabek just enjoyed how honest he was. It was refreshing.
Neither of them particularly wanted to be at the camp, but it was unavoidable. Otabek had tried to reassure Yuri, telling him to just make the best out of a bad situation, and that was what they did. They spent most of the time at camp at each other’s sides. In fact, they’d even managed to be bunk mates. Yuri insisted on taking the top bunk. Otabek was sure it had something to do with cats enjoying high places, but he didn’t say anything.
The time before lights out was spent on the bottom bunk, laying next to each other and talking about the idiocy of the day they’d had to go through. Otabek mostly just let Yuri talk. He had a nice voice, and he was a lot better at coming up with things to criticise. And hell, his insults were ingenious.
Yuri was laughing to himself, staring up at the bunk above them when he finally spoke with a little more sincerity, “You know, this camp really blows, but I guess getting to hang out makes it okay.”
“Is that a compliment?” Otabek glanced over, a smirk playing on his lips. He knew he was the only one who ever got away with teasing Yuri and he’d make the most of that privilege.
“Don’t let it go to your head.”
As their eyes locked, Otabek spoke softly, sincerity in every word, “It’s gonna suck not having you around this much when we get back.”
Otabek felt that pull, that electricity that was entirely too cheesy and cliche to ever talk about out loud, but he was sure Yuri felt it, too. The need to be closer, the want to share each other’s space. They were so close and it would be so easy to just close the tiny gap between them and kiss him. And judging by the way Yuri was moving closer, he wouldn’t have minded. Otabek moved closer with every intention of indulging himself in that need he’d been keeping to himself for weeks now.
“Lights out! Everyone to bed!” The camp organiser’s voice rang through the room, Yuri jolting away and Otabek suddenly felt very cold without him so close. All he could do was watch as Yuri crawled out of the bed and climbed up to the top bunk.
Maybe next time he’d have more luck.

Everybody Knows/Mistaken for Couple/Hair Brushing/Braiding
“You’re kidding, right?” Mila’s voice travelled through the room, but Yuri made no attempt to look up from the phone in his hand. If he did, he might mess up the braid Otabek was hard at work preparing in his hair.
Otabek was very talented at braiding hair. Yuri had never asked him why exactly that was. Maybe he had kid sisters or something, Yuri couldn’t be sure, but it was nice. His fingers felt good in Yuri’s hair, and he was always so delicate, “What’s your problem?”
Mila laughed as she made her way over to the pair of them, her hands rested on her hips as she looked them up and down, “He braids your hair now?”
“Yura can’t do it himself,” Otabek pointed out, carefully trying the braid in place, “Someone’s gotta do it.”
“You know how romantic it is to groom someone like that, right?” Mila smirked as she watched them, clearly proud of herself, “Are you still going to deny it?”
Mila had been watching them closely for a while now, and Yuri had gotten used to these moments. She was looking for everything that could possibly mean he and Otabek were more than friends, and he couldn’t for the life of him figure out why. The old hag should really be paying more attention to her own relationships instead. Yuri was perfectly happy with the relationship he had with Otabek. Sure, his hands were really soothing, his smile was pretty, and there was no way in hell he’d ever let anyone else this close, but that didn’t mean anything.
“Just friends,” Yuri murmured, scrolling through the messages on his phone.
“Uh huh,” Mila nodded thoughtfully, “So hey, remind me who’s allowed to call you ‘Yura’?”
“Family,” Yuri responded without a moment’s hesitation. It was only a moment later that he realised why she’d asked. She heat rose on his cheeks and Yuri threw his phone in Mila’s direction, “Get lost, hag!”

I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On/Circus AU
It was a sight unlike anything Otabek had ever seen before. There was no reason for him to be there. In fact, if anyone asked, he would’ve said that he really hated the circus. He’d never seen the appeal of it before. But that all changed when he saw the blond boy moving so elegantly in the centre of the circus tent, the audience just as captivated as he was.
The performer was high up in the air with only long ribbons of fabric suspending him, but he looked as though he was in his element. His body was entangled in the ribbons only to unravel, threatening to allow gravity to take him only for his hold on the fabric to stop the momentum. So flexible, so beautiful, it was mesmerising.
And incredibly sexy.
In fact, as the performance came to an end, Otabek found himself rushing out of the circus tent. He needed air. It was entirely too hot within the confines of that tent, and after what he’d just witnessed, he needed to breathe. It would’ve been fine. He could’ve taken a little break, maybe gone back in to see one more performance before going home. Nothing would compare to what he’d just witnessed, but maybe that was for the best.
“Hey,” Turning to face the owner of the unfamiliar voice, Otabek found himself face to face with the stunning ribbon dancer he’d just been watching moments before, still sweaty from the hardships of performing, “What, you hated it so much you had to leave?”
“No! N-No, it’s not that,” Otabek chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he struggled to find the right words to convey how he felt.
The boy looked him over and seemed to notice the blush on Otabek’s cheeks, “Oh,” He smirked, “I’m Yuri. Nice to meet you.”
