sparc! The ArtMobile in collaboration with Comics in Color and Roxbury Community Collage just installed a new Chain Link Gallery Highlighting the upcoming Comics in Color Festival and some of the Comic artists involved!

The Boston Comics in Color Festival [BCICF] is a family-friendly event for all ages focusing on creators of color and stories by and about people of color. This free event will take place on April 23, 2022 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on the campus of Roxbury Community College (RCC) and is the first of its kind in the city of Boston. The sparc! team will lead the Create Your Player activity from 11am-2pm. The event will include event headliner(s); special guest speakers; panel discussions with working artists and writers, workshops on comic art and writing, live art demos, as well as an artist alley for comic creators to share and sell their books, materials, artwork.

The aim of sparc!’s Chain Link Gallery project is to provide inspiration, encouragement, and visual vitality to our community at the street level. As we navigate these uncertain times, art can provide a healing balm to the soul and allow us to collectively envision a future of new possibilities!
