Roxbury, baby I can't explain what it feels like to have grown up in Roxbury, Massachusetts. If I could, though, I would say each of us had our own respective birth family members. However, along the way, we adopted other "cousins", "aunts", "uncles", "brothers", and "sisters", and we took it seriously. DREAM BIG! My peoples @shamika.realestateguru posted this earlier. Truest thing I've read all morning. Not only should your dreams be laughable to THEM, they should also be laughable to YOU. After all, you know your limits and flaws. You also know what it takes to overcome them. I've found myself laughing HARD at myself when i even THINK about releasing new rap music. Then I paused and realized it's an even bigger possibility if I challenged myself. Can't lie, I've talked to myself inn the shower, the car, and while laying in bed going thru internet posts. And i found myself ASKING myself (while LAUGHING at myself) "YOU? Do a RAP album? Hahahahaha!" It's not enough to do ONE album. I've committed to doing a double album. I'm now picking through about 72 songs to figure which ones will make it to the album. Bet myself ain't laughing now. Lol. The album is called "Grown Folk Hiphop" and will be available everywhere October 25th. BLESSED to have worked with some of Cali's top producers, including @chrisbrownofficial 's team, some of Boston's greatest producers, and Virginia's finest. I'm 53.
