Week of Toku Ladies - Why I Love Her
We’ve had evil ladies who are Rangers before, yes, but Roxy is still very much something new. She’s the first proper Evil Lady Ranger, Her Powers from the exact same source as Zoey.
Furthermore, she’s capable, gorgeous, and badass, and her plans always work out better than Blaze’s. I’d argue that she’s the best villain of the season, actually.

What are your thoughts on power rangers beastmorphers?
They are my KIDS, I have watched EVERY EPISODE, even the Australian “leaks”. It’s not, say, late Saban or Disney Era good, but I love everything about it.
Roxy is one of my fav villains ever, and the team is just… so cute, and they work so well. Nate is set up to be Gold without it being obvious or truly random. Zoey is the cutest, sweetest Yellow to ever be on a one lady team. Devon is an amazing leader who takes his lessons of the day to heart. And Ravi? He needs a hug.
Also I really love a lot of the elements used in this, like the best Evil Ranger Plot since, like… Trent. The Avatars really make me want to know the og Roxy and Blaze, and they’re capable villains who love it but also they’re Power Rangers? The concept of morphex is stupid, but I never really question it, in the show, and it works as a great framing device. I love how all 5 Rangers have family stories, Zoey and Ravi with their moms, Devon with his dad, and Nate and Steel with each other, and these stories are made to MATTER.
The opening episode is so cute and sad and brilliant, and the leadership episode is even better! Like, I really love the trope where multiple characters fight over being leader and the one who is like “guys, can we just work together?” gets picked as leader, BY THE TEAM!
The Valentines Day episode is one of the best, because it shows Roxy AT her best, but it also shows how much Ravi is still hurting about losing Roxy.
Zoey and the bike episode is amazing, entirely because it introduces her mom, and her mom is an amazing character whom I love, very much. Also, Zoey is such good person and a smart person and YES, gotta love that PR advertisement.
The episode with Devon and his dad hurts me, and it’s really nice seeing this early example of this season really grappling with the problems of the rules of being a Ranger. That’s a fun aspect of the show that should be talked about more.
NATE MY BOY NATE AND MY BOY STEEL I LOVED EPISODE 8 SO MUCH AND I KNEW IT WAS COMING BUT I T ‘ S M Y K I D S ! ! !
Also they’re bringing K back, so that’s exciting.
