Roy Andersen _ Keeper Of The High Country
ok so the year was 1996, i was in the 6th grade, and there was a giant shelf of national geographics in the classroom. there was this one from the 70′s that was all about dinosaurs. it blew my mind because 1) it was packed with these really sweet paintings, and 2) it had all these dated notions like brontosauruses (before brontosaurus came back like last year) and upright bipeds, etc. one day i just straight up stole that motherfucker. heh, a little warm in here all of the sudden (catholic school guilt). anyways, here are the scans i made about ten years ago. would be happy to give credit if anyone knows the artist.
EDIT: a friend who works at nat geo (who actually happened to be in that same classroom, and who revealed to me that he also pilfered an issue or two (lordy, lordy)) dug into the online archive and found it. Roy Andersen, from August 1978. Related, I might have to get myself a digital subscription. It’s cheap and you get access to the ENTIRE archive, which is gigantic.
