Chapter 4

That night Kan sat in bed looking at the ceiling. He normally did this when trying to sleep but tonight was different. The words echoed in his head about his new job. "Stealing life force, Getting paid, Deadlines, Quotas, Etc." He knew what sirens did but this... he never thought he'd do this.

Roy was still sitting in the living room looking at the stairs that lead to Kan's room. "... Kanashi." He yelled out to him. "Come down here. We need to talk." Kanashi heard him but waited a bit before getting up. He opened his door and came down stairs looking at his uncle. "Yeah?" Roy looked at Kanashi. "Look Kanashi. Being a siren isn't easy. And I can't help you if the cops in other districts come after you." Roy said looking at him. "Your point? I already know what I'm getting into. The company explained it enough." Kan said as he leaned on the wall. "I'm just saying... your mom wouldn't want you doing this." Kan then gripped his arm. "...Mom isn't around anymore. And don't say dad wouldn't either cause he abandoned me to go do whatever the hell." Kan sounded angry mentioning his father. "Look Kan. I know you haven't had a good relationship with him as of late but... if he were to show up and see what you are doing. How would you..." Kan then snapped back at Roy. "I wouldn't care! If he didn't want this he should've stayed here! Not run away!" Kan was getting very angry. He glared at Roy. "Anything else you wanna tell me about that worthless asshole?!" Kan continued to yell. Roy sighed before looking at to the side. "Just... be safe ok? I'd rather not lose you like your mother." Kan then started to calm down. "I...I'll be fine. Sorry for yelling but please... don't mention him anymore." Kan started heading back to his room.

The next morning Kan moved over to his PC and back onto the site. "Alright. Now lets see. A few hits around here... seem easy enough." Names and locations of where these people normally stayed around were on the pages. Most of the people on the list were abusers, killers, etc. "..." Kanashi didn't say anything. He did go looking through the names to see if he knew any of them. He was hoping for a certain name to be there but it never showed. He then clicked a random name and clicked for the hit. He then got his mask and got dressed. He took a deep breath looking up. "You got this."

Chapter 3

After having gotten the mask. Kanashi started walking back to the green district putting the mask in his shirt. The rules he were told echoed in his mind. ‘Don’t tell people you joined a company of sirens. If anyone you knows comes by and they ask what job you have just say so credit towards college.’ Kan walked through the green district walking past the black market. He did see someone he had come to know... kinda. She came by from time to time buying Kit-Kats. She had this aura about her that made Kan question a few things. Her appearance was black hair with a blue strip in it. She didn’t seem like someone you would see around the green district to often but for some reason she’d stop by. She stood where his stand normally was but he was a bit to tired so he was heading on home.

Kan made it into his home looking at his mask as he saw his Uncle in the kitchen. “Kanashi. Where were you?” He said to him. His Uncle Roy just so happened to be a cop in the Green District. He was a pretty harsh person sometime but was pretty kind to Kanashi. “Oh you know. Just took a trip to the other districts.” He took his shoes off smiling a bit. “Really? Which district?” Roy sat down kinda looking at him still. “The Yellow District. I had some stuff I had to check out there?” Kan started heading towards his room. “Show me what you are hiding.” He said kinda loudly. Kan stopped and looked at Roy. “I have nothing to hide.” “Don’t play dumb with me. Show me what is in your shirt that you are hiding.” Roy still looked at him. Kan sighed showing the mask. “See. Just something I had to go pick up.” “So you are one of those now huh?” Roy said angrily. “Do you have any idea what you signed yourself up for?!” Kan looked at him. “Your point. People already brand me as a criminal years ago. So I’ll just play the part they want me to be.” Kan said looking at Roy. “This again? Really? The court found you Not Guilty. Let this go. You didn’t kill Rebecca alright?” Roy said seeming to be more angry and annoyed. “Tell that to the people who called me that years ago! They still say I did it. Don’t think I’m stupid Roy!” Kan yelled at him as he stormed off to his room slamming the door.

Roy stood in silence looking at the stairs Kan went up and sighed. “Michael... I’m sorry. But it looks like he is gonna head down the same path as you and Rebecca did... I just hope it has a better ending.” The phone in the house then started to ring. “Yes... This is him...”

Kan was sitting in his room in silence as he looked at the mask. ‘So it’s just steal life force. Turn it into the company... and then get paid... Interesting.’ He then moved over to a pc in his room and started it up. “Lets see...There was a special website to head to right... what was it again?” He started typing the letters slowly. A login in then appeared. “Hmm... Said my username is the bird... and the password is the codename.” He then typed it all in and a new website appeared. Seemed to be a hub for sirens. “Hmm. Primal has it’s own section.” The entire primal section featured live streams of people currently working. Locations of hits for sirens. And areas to avoid due to cops and people. “Hmm... What’s this.” He then saw an area that read. ‘Black Market.’ He then clicked the link. “...So that’s why certain people appeared.” He read the head note ‘If needed you can buy life force if you are in a pinch but it will cost you.’ “hmm... Guess I’ll look over more of this tomorrow.”

Year 2

“...Life was tough after I lost him.” Kan was still down about what happened. “But slowly after time life picked back up.”

After Donny died... Someone had to take his place... Aku got bought from the company he worked at to be one of the sirens Primal... He immediately took Big Shot position number 2 and Edward took 1... Samantha... The Orange Bishop took Donny’s place as a higher up. Kanashi worked under her from then on.

After some time Edward left the company and was presumed to be Rogue. This bumped Thomas to Spot 1 and Aku still at spot 2. But Kanashi then got his big break. He took to being a big shot as well being number 5. This meant a higher quota of life force. It took awhile but Kanashi finally got it down.

“There is one thing I remember. I got to go meet the boss for the first time. And it wasn’t a pleasant meeting.” Kan snarled a bit.

Kanashi waited outside the office and took a deep breath before walking in. “You need to...” He saw his Uncle Roy... The man who had been raising him all his life talking with someone behind a desk. “Uncle? Why are you here?” That question made the boss stand up. “Kanashi Oto... Do you know who I am?” Kan was confused. He didn’t understand. “You’re the boss of Primal sir? The Bobolink Blackbird.” The man sighed. “Has it really been that long little Kankan?” Kanashi looked to the side. “...I’d rather you not call me that... That nickname was only allowed for my parents.” “I know. That’s why I said it.” The Boss looked at Kanashi. “It’s been 12 years since you last saw me.” Kanashi then looked at the boss. “Are you saying?” “That’s exactly what I’m saying... It’s me... Your father.” The boss smiled a little. “Michael Oto... The Bobolink Blackbird.” Kanashi’s expression didn’t seem to get happy. He actually seemed very pissed off. “Arena... 5 minutes... Show up.” Kanashi stormed out of Michael’s office. Michael looked to Roy. “Was it something I said?” Roy looked at Michael. “Kanashi thought you were dead. He gave up on you coming back. He started to hate you more and more... You’re seeing the anger and hatred of a 12 year old grudge.” Roy sighed and walked away. “Have fun Brother.”
