READY-MADE MEME
殺生丸 & 狼野干
Woop I bought another volume of InuYasha and discovered that (unlike the anime) Rouyakan didn’t turn into a bigger wolf with a longer nose and limbs after receiving the shikon shard, but is overgrown by the plant with a shard embedded in it. Which looks way prettier and I wanted to draw it :)
Manga vs Anime Part 2
I’m happy you enjoyed the first post of this series. Now the victim... err, the next is the arc about Royakan’s attack, after Inuyasha pushes Kagome in the well (after taking her Shikon shards, so she wouldn’t risk her life anymore standing besides him). The original mutation caused by the Shikon Shard in Royakan is completely different from the anime. Basically, it is just a weed all over his head.
Creepy, uh? But I still think he looks scarier - or at least more powerful - when he looks more... wolfy.
Or maybe it is just me. Back in her time, Kagome is dressed up to go out with Houjo, because of her colleagues’ pressure. Personally, I think that her anime clothes in this episode look more graceful. And it is also one of the very rare moments where she’s wearing some adornment.
In the manga, Inuyasha yanks ouf of the well the tree he had put before... but doesn’t get to jump.
While in the anime, somehow his impulse tosses him into the air, a la Incredible Hulk... and we are greeted with this beautiful air dancing. (yeah, I posted this before... I never get tired of watching this scene).
Just to make it perfect, it would have been great if THIS scene was animated in the end.
(sigh) Oh well. Guess that Inuyasha’s story wasn’t made to be perfect, just like its characters. So, what do you think? Manga? Anime? We’re free to love both or like one most. Just don’t come saying “Inuyasha’s anime is a trash yaddayadda”, because you’ll be hurting/annoying its fans, like me. Fandom is free for everyone! Manga translation from manganelo.com. I recommend the site.
Royakan drinks alcohol, and eats humans.
My second doukj. (yes, that’s mine!) Paint Tool Sai for lines, Photoshop for reticles and text. In the episode 89 (when kagome has a flu), Kaede hints that Inuyasha and his friends protect the village when they are not traveling. Especially him. As I watched Inuyasha fighting one youkai after another to get food for Kagome, I started thinking: “Why, news run vert fast among youkais. They must know how much Inuyasha and his Tessaiga are dangerous, and yet, they keep saying: “Ha, you’re not a match for me, pipsqueak!”. If they had some good sense, they would run in panick and scream: “ HELP! It’s Inuyasha! I don’t want to die!” Probably it’s because of the stupid hanyou thing - a proof of how lethal prejudice can be. So, as much as Inuyasha protects the village, probably the bad guys would fear Sesshomaru’s wrath, not his.
