War and politics are nothing but a game, the powerful and power-hungry control the pieces on the board. Each move is methodically planned, thought out five steps ahead. It’s only those most powerful aware of the game, the kings and queens who play for their own gain. The pawns, bishops, and knights are nothing more but game pieces, being moved and influenced by those with the power. When WWIII began in 2020, the chessboard was wiped, players thrown from their positions as the world was thrown into darkness...

But a century later, the chessboard is back on the table, this time with new monarchs controlling the unwitting pieces in their game for power. A social experiment has been formed, hidden in the mountains of Russia. The youngest generation of royals are thrown together in a single location, both for safety and a test. Their parents play them as pawns on a large board to see whether or not they can learn to get along, whether or not they can rule the globe and bring their countries further out of the darkness the last world war caused. But not all wish to see the royals succeed. The monarchs are not the only players, though they think that they are. Rebels hide behind every corner, pushing their own pieces in a bid for power and the destruction of the reigning monarchs.

The only thing that is certain in this game?

War of Royals is an original, semi-appless royalty rp that takes place after WWIII. Royals have been sent to a hidden palace in Russia for both safety and to unknowingly participate in a social experiment, all in the name of peace. They will be tested on their ability to get along and come up with political solutions, all while being far from home. Rebels are hidden within the palace and surrounding village, just waiting to cause trouble.

The Duke of Kaliningrad is a trusted and steadfast member of the Russian nobility, but given the geographic location of the Oblast, he is often left to his own devices. The Duke works hard for his people and is a clever, sharp-tongued, intelligent leader who was able to carry out his duties without any fuss. 

That all changed when a young, insolent, German duchess, Elyse of Prussia, made international headlines by opening and running a charity in Kaliningrad for just over a year. She visited the Oblast, ingratiated herself to the people, and undermined the Russian power in the region. Unapologetic and evasive, Elyse swears up and down that it was just charity work, that she just wanted to spread the good fortunes of Prussia to other regions. Never mind that she will remind anyone who listens that Kaliningrad used to be part of Germany. 

The Duke is no fool and knows precisely what Elyse is up to. He knows she’s not to be trusted, but that doesn’t keep him from being drawn to her. She’s as clever as he is and not interested in pulling punches. Elyse seems to feel the same way, but she is difficult to read. The question is, what will he do with this attraction? Follow the feeling? Perhaps use it to broker a peaceful resolution before the Duchess makes another move? Or is the Duke simply out to manipulate and secure the sovereignty of his duchy even if it means breaking a woman’s heart?

The Royal Family of Armenia is close cousins to the Turkish Royal family. The families came together when the King of Turkey and Armenian Princess Lilit were married in an effort to make amends for sins of the past. Following a public apology for the genocide against the Armenian people, the two countries embarked on a new future together. The Turkish people embraced Queen Lilit and the two families and nations became forever tied. 

Tragedy struck in 2000 when Queen Lilit was killed in a plane crash. Both countries were devastated and it only drew the two families closer. As children, Aslan and Esmeray took solace in their aunt and uncles’ stories of their mother. 

Today, Lilit’s brother, King Armen is a strong and gentle leader. Princess Lena is said to look hauntingly like her older sister and often compared to the dead queen. Prince Sahak is charming and handsome. Crown Princess Anush, Armen’s daughter, is poised to take the throne.
