It could even just be that the first video is 4 years old, this month? Once things get around that old sudden reappearance Just Kinda Does That sometimes. Homestuck and Undertale, among others, have seen it happen for folks by now

no age has nothing to do with, i still like homestuck and undertale and i’ve never even watched the mystery skull videos, its just the way the characters are designed that make me vaguely uncomfortable

iirc those videos are made by a guy who used to make a lot of brony content in the past, and it might be that the art style just kind of... emanates that aura?
