Talking about Princess Margaret, dont you think that some of the sadness could be from not getting to marry Townsend? I think thats why she drank a lot. Lost love can do that to a girl. -Royal Land

Oh, most definitely. After that ended, she partied harder than ever. People also found her to become quite aloof and rude after that. Someone spotted her on an engagement (at a University, I think), and they said they thought she’d rather be anywhere else. I think that did have an impact in her early years.

Her affair with Roddy Llewellyn also affected her, I think. Apparently when he fled to Turkey, she was so upset she took an overdose.

She wasn’t very lucky in love, unfortunately.
