Royally Obsessed - Prologue
What about a fantasy Au? Where Bts are like princess day they are like looking for a bride and they fall for s/o who is a peasant. But she is actually in love with someone else. ( why do I come up with these ideas at like 3am? I don't question it I just accept it. Love your blog btw💓💗💖)
It was a quiet morning- well, it was too early for the word morning. It was barely even dawn yet. The sun hadn't even spared the smallest touch over the Nochu mountains, and the Ramon forests were darker than usual. Even at this truly ungodly hour, a small form was already climbing out of their small corner turned into a bed, collecting a bundle of, presumably, clothing, before pittering out of the cottage, walking into the aforementioned dark woods. Animals who were used to waking up at this hour as well, looked on at the mysterious figure, a small buck trotting over and nudging the hand of the form, begging for attention. The form chuckled quietly and granted the animals wish, petting it lightly and bending down to grace it with a soft kiss, before continuing the trek into the forest.
Eventually, the person reached a tiny, yet stunning meadow, growing with blue and white and yellow flowers of unique shades and small pebbles decorated the edge of the beautiful river running through it. A couple of water roses adorned the surface of the water and the stunning scenery was finished off perfectly with a small waterfall, glistening beautifully in the soft moonlight. The figure let down the hood of their cloak, dropping the bundle of clothing down, the small buck, which was following the figure all along, trotted off to give privacy. A couple of foxes were still guarding the meadow, wolves ready to attack anyone who would dare to interrupt the beautiful woman hiding under the cloak.
And yes, truly, the person hiding under the cloak was the most stunning woman in the village she lived in, most likely even in the whole kingdom. Her skin was fair and pale as the moonlight shining over her, her hair was as dark as the night she woke up to, silky smooth and oh so long. Her body was small, but adorable, yet with the perfect feminine curves. Her eyes glowed a soft brown, seemingly holding the mysteries of the universe in their charming depth. The woman sighed with happiness. This was one of the few moments of the day where she would finally be able to reveal herself. You see, in the fear of being stolen away, her parents, poor farmers, would make her wear a long, blue cloak and a white mask in order to hide her beauty and only reveal it in the privacy of their home.
This was her little spot, her small safe place that was free from the suffocating protectiveness from her brother, free of the curious looks and questions from the villagers, free from everything. She loved it here, and her small, bare feet dipped into the water carefully, her body soon following as she swam in the clear, sheer water, washing off her body and raking her long, slender fingers through her hair.
Way too soon for her liking, the sun graced the horizon, making her exit the water with a pitiful frown, dressing in her clothing quickly, just to spend a few more fleeting moments to watch the golden hues dance over the water, making the already beautiful scenery even more awe inducing. Oh how she wished she could have a small painting of the scenery with her wherever she went! She voiced the small wish with the tiniest smile, before turning around and pulling the cloak back over her face, the mask covering the upper part of her face.
No matter how beautiful her figure might've been, she was still required to work long hours. Her family was at the brink of poverty, and any helpful hand was greatly appreciated. The woman had often heard her parents quietly discuss marrying her off to a rich man, but her brother overheard a lot of the times and it just resulted in loud arguments which she would have to end by pulling her brother away and calming him. It seemed like this was one of those arguments, even at this hour, she could hear the deep vocals of her brothers shouts, weakly being fought against by the ones of her parents.
With a sigh, the figure rushed inside the house, pulling her mask and hood off, ready to pull her brother away, completely unaware of the surprised, yet watchful male sitting at the old creaky kitchen table they had, a cup of steaming, hand picked by the woman tea, in front of him.
"Brother, brother! Calm down now, as I am here. No need to fret, no need to fight! I am here, and we should get to work!" The woman's melodic voice was a bit worried, holding the taller mans face in her hands, forcing their eyes to join in a desperate attempt to calm him.
"I cannot be calm, Y/N, when our parents are ready to give you away without a second thought! Where is your mask and hood, my dearest sister? Why is it removed?" The handsome male quickly grabbed the mask and pushed on Y/N's face, securing it and placing the hood back on.
"Why should I be hidden, Hoseok? My face, as ordered, is only bare at the company of you, mother and father, we have no visitors?" Your confused voice made the mysterious man sitting at the table chuckle lowly.
"Oh, sweet lady, that is where you're mistaken. You do have a guest, and it is I, the royal messenger of the ball." He spoke in a deep baritone, giving off the feeling as if the whole room shook at the vibrations of it.
"I deeply apologise, my dear sir. Now mother, this poetic way of speech is tiring, may I stop?"
"Okay, stop. It's getting kinda old now. The author would've gotten too bored of writing so fancily soon anyways. The author is a 21st century child, she ain't got no victorian dialect in her." A unknown voice spoke from seemingly nowhere and anywhere, making Y/N nod.
"Thanks for breaking the fourth wall, author. Now, anyways, what're you here for, sir?" Her cheeks were burning with an embarrassed fire, only making her more beautiful.
"You've been chosen as the most beautiful person in this village. It means you must pack a bag and travel to the royal castle, where you will be joining a ball together with people from the other 19 villages and 10 cities, meaning 29 contestants, and you. This is in fact the last place I have to go to in order to inform them." The man checked a list and scratched off the last name which clearly stated 'Y/N from Jaatving, 17'.
"She's not going. Go get Hyunling from the next house over, she's pretty too, plus well off. Besides, what do you need the ball for anyway? Don't you royals have enough of those with your elite buddies?" Hoseok spoke coldly.
"The ball is organised in order to help the three princes of the Kim Kingdom, the Highest Royal Guard, the Highest Lecturer and the princes step brother all find a wife. If you are not familiar with the people I've named," 'which I wouldn't be surprised about,' the man scoffed under his breath, earning an angry scowl from Hoseok," Prince Kim Seokjin, Prince Kim Namjoon, Prince Kim Taehyung, Royal Guard Park Jimin, Highest Lecturer Min Yoongi and Prince Jeon Jungkook. They're all looking for wives." The man looked out of breath after finishing the roll of people, Hoseok noted he had been sneaking glances at a page as well. Must be hard working for royals.
"You can shove that ball up your ass, Y/N ain't going nowhere. " Hoseok spat.
"We're paying a hefty sum of money to every family which participates. More money is paid to those families which daughters survive the dropping the longest. "
The day ended with Y/N, and Hoseok, packing their bags. "Will you really be okay with us, mommy?" Y/N softly touched the old ladies cheek with her palm, the mask neatly sitting on her face.
"We're sure. The extra money won't hurt us in any way, sweetie. Just.. try to not get dropped, okay?"
Y/N's face was painted with a pained smile. "I-I'll do my best, mommy. Have luck!"
The man was huffing by the horses they'd be taking. "Do you really have to go?"
Hoseok just sent him a scornful glare, wrapping his arm around Y/N tighter. "Yes, yes I do. Y/N is my little baby sister, and I will protect her from those vile elites no matter what. She is mine." Hoseok hissed out.
"Come on now, Hopie! Let's get in the cart." With Hoseoks help, Y/N climbed into the wood cart and waved goodbye to her parents which were wiping their tears sadly. "We'll miss you, Y/N- ie, Hopie! Come back to us soon!"
"We will, momma, papa! We will!" Y/N called back to them, waving with a small smile.
