Turkish government blocks gay cruise carrying Americans from docking, citing ‘moral standards’

Atlantis Events’ CEO said it was the first time in 36 years the company had been told a ship could not dock “because of who we are.”

They are right now advancing major Anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation. Is this shitty for tourists? Yes, but I worry so much for the queer community in Türkiye for who things are getting so much more dangerous as I type this.

I can only hope attention form the international community will lead to pressure in favour of human rights within the country.

MSC Cruises is Planning to Destroy Cozumel’s Villa Blanca Reef

In addition to studying pygmy raccoons and tourism in Cozumel, I also partner with the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program, as coral is another animal heavily impacted by tourism.
