A plethora of surprises | closed w/ royalsage
It had been nineteen years since last they had stepped foot in Hyrule. Perhaps they could have returned sooner, many things would have changed if they did though; fate demanded that their lives play out the way they had and the couple had accepted it long ago. While there were things they regretted they would not change them, not as long as they were aware this was how life would turn out for the both of them.
As it was they had a very good reason for returning to the land of their birth- Ayla and Hiro; leaders of the Sheikah tribe, were visiting their only children on this, their nineteenth birthday. Shaia had left days ago, they would have travelled with her but they needed to get a few last minute things settled before leaving; it was only for a few days that they would be gone but still there was quite a list that needed to be taken care of...
It was worth it though. Honestly it was nice to be back in Hyrule, it was a beautiful Kingdom; free of the lingering darkness that oozed from every corner of Termina- if only they would receive less stares from the populace... Sure Sheik and Shaia were the only Sheikah to be seen in these parts for years, but honestly did they have to stare when new Sheikah appeared?
"... Do you even remember the way?"
Maybe they were being stared at because they were lost? It had been quite some time since either of them had stepped foot in the castle; who could blame them for not knowing which way to go? "You!" Ayla gestured to a nearby passing servant, a cold expression on her face. "We are here for a visit with her Majesty Zelda and our son, her Guardian- we await their presence in the throne room."
Her serious look was marred by a smirk as she watched the servant tear off down the hallway; beside her Hiro quietly sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose between two fingers. "Ayla I love you my dearest, but do you even remember where the throne room is?-" Upon seeing the glare on his wife's face Hiro quieted down and sighed again, accepting the fact that Ayla's pride refused to allow her to ask for directions to their intended location.
"We'll find it on our own; the castle can't be that difficult to navigate after all." So the pair set off through the castle, keeping to themselves as they slowly fumbled their way to their desired meeting place.
