She had thought it would take more convincing for him to actually agree to her plan. Not everyone enjoyed being caught in the rain after all and after spending the past few hours with her she honestly expected Link to want to be rid of her by now (it wasn’t that she thought he would think that way, she just couldn’t help but feel she easily annoyed others). She had no idea what ran through his mind when she gently pulled on the sleeve of his tunic, face red with a blush and barely able to look at his face as she mumbled her request.
At first he hadn’t heard her and she stammered it louder, completely looking away from him as she waited to be rejected. The rain had just started so it was a simple mist gently, lazily, falling to the ground; if they spent just a few minutes surely they could still make it somewhere indoors before the heavier stuff fell?
In the end they ended up staying longer than a few minutes. They also got soaked, water weighing down their clothes and chilling skin- not that they noticed of course. No, the pair were much too busy being caught up in dancing together; the rain had yet to completely cool them so heat was still shared from their bodies being so close together. Each had a warm smile on their face and despite the dampness of their clothes their laughter rang carefree among the air around them.
They lost track of time, their thoughts too preoccupied on their twirls and quietly humming random tunes that they contentedly danced to. In fact, the only reason they stopped was because of a sneeze, one that caused Shaia to glance down at Link with a sheepish expression on her face… Which then turned in to a flustered one as they both realized how close they were…. And how relaxed they were around each other, what fun they had just had…
Before either of them knew it his arms were loosely around her waist and hers in turn were around his neck. Any cold the rain had caused was thrown aside as their kiss brought warmth slowly back in to their bodies; it was a slow burning heat, one made from bliss and sincere affection. Honestly it was the warmth one would get from drinking hot chocolate after being out in the cold… But with more heart stumbles and all thought leaving your brain aside from how nice it was being held and dear deity she had always wanted a kiss like this-
Eventually they had to part, they did so slowly as if reluctant to end their moments of blissful peace. Their eyes remained closed for a few moments after, their bodies were close enough she could hear his heart thumping just as wildly as her own was. This caused a faint smile to ghost over Shaia’s lips and she peeked at Link as her grin continued to widen. She wasn’t sure what to say about what had just happened, she didn’t know what it mean or if it should be awkward… So…
"… You’re really short….~"
Her words were but a teasing whisper as she leaned in to kiss his nose, a quiet laugh escaped her lips at the pout the Hylian made at the comment. His reply was to simply gently rest his forehead against her own and scowl, though his expression was so close to her face it only resulted in her laughing a bit more and gently pressing her lips to his for a quick kiss. "And kinda really cute, you know that?"
The rain still fell around them, they were completely soaked and completely indifferent to this fact. The blushes over both their faces, the vivid imprint of still feeling his arms around her waist, how desperately she clung to the scent of the rain around them… Shaia knew she wouldn’t be forgetting this moment any time in the near future. And…. Judging by the way the pair loosely held hands as they wandered inside from the rain…
He wasn’t going to forget either.
