The mayor couldn’t help but suppress a chuckle at Queenie’s surprise, nodding. “Of course- Oh, are you sure?” She tilts her head. “I wouldn’t want you to starve yourself over your own party, and all. Not even a cut of meat?”
Gil gave a shameless grin back on Queenie’s sour look, stepping ahead and helping clear a path to a table when Queenie took up on Marianne’s offer.
“I’m sure Lady Drachen has been on top of her health–” Alarune quietly piped in, helping put the topic behind them while they got seated. While she initially tried to coyly sit across from Queenie, Mari was quick on the initiative, taking the seat opposite Queenie and leaving Alarune with the one comfortably between her and the host.
Marianne resisted a pout at Gil not sitting next to her, though it seemed the mushroom alien wouldn’t budge from standing beside her a little further back to prevent upsetting Queenie while Alarune was there. “So- how has the party been coming along? No petty noble drama yet, right?” She teases, adjusting her veil. “It’s almost a shame I have to ask so much, the most I’ve heard of you prior to this get-together was from Alarune, so I hope you don’t mind indulging my curiosity.” Marianne hums coyly, quietly reading Alarune and Queenie’s expressions over any chatter.
“No, thank you,” Queenie asserts, more than relieved when the subject is dropped. She sits carefully, patting down her dress so that it’ll stay tidy, and mutters something about having sore feet. Gil distancing themself puts her at greater ease.
“Drama? Not with this crowd. A guest did pass out earlier, but that was taken care of swiftly,” Queenie sighs, taking the question a little more literally. She perks up again as soon as it’s implied that Alarune would think to talk about her at all. “Not in the slightest—” She glances over. “I do hope you’ve only had nice things to say about me, hm, Runey?”
Tittering brightly, she turns back to Marianne and adds, “…likewise, however, I’ve only heard about you indirectly. I understand you’ve taken over mayoral work in your area?”
Festival time
Sun, cider, song. What else could a guy want.
Nero sat under a growing oak tree, back against the trunk and his legs outstretched. Idly kicking his flipflops on and off. Although the festival itself didnt start until twilight was drawing in, he and cecil had been sat comfy on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of stalls being set up for the afternoon. People coming and going for a number of hours, decorating the buildings and trees, arranging flower displays and much more.
This particular festival was the only one that nero didnt have a stall entered for. He chose instead to hang out with cecil for the day. This was their 5 year so it was becoming a sort of tradition really. Taylor laid close by, stretched out on his side and dozing, Ell curled around cecils shoulders. As the music grew gradually louder, compensating for the voices of more people, nero was finish off the 6 pint of cloudy apple cider. Cecil In close 5th behind.
" I'm telling you, you're getting your Hope's to high pal" cecil remarked, pushing up on to his elbows from his playing position.
Nero kept his eyes facing forwards watching the revelers enjoy what was looking to be a good event. " I've just got a feeling Cec. Abi seems like a woman of action... I reckon that first test wont be the last for me"
" look I'm sure this winnie chick is cool- really... but why are you so hung up on getting her to like you?" Cecil watched closely for the reply, trying to understand the cause of his dramatic attitude change.
Nero sighed heavily and shrugged " you'll get it when you meet her"
" doubt it" cecil grumbled " unless shes secretly got a penis"
Nero laughed loudly and swatted Cecil's shoulder playfully

Noonien’s eyes were tired, exhausted actually, he hadn’t slept properly for days, and now he was caged again. Again to be used, sitting on that white bench. He still couldn’t remember things very well, there was so much he didn’t knew. When she leaned against him, his first impulse was to move away- being touched only meant pain as far as he recalled- but he just stared her for a while. “I do not know you.” His eyes narrowed. “I would rather have my personal space preserved.” Noonien’s voice sounded harsh, but he had his reasons. His priority was to get out of there and rescue his crew...but...he didn’t even know if they were alive or not.
♭ - At first, interrogating the Autobot had seemed more trouble than it was worth. This was a unique opportunity, one that he couldn't pass up. Starscream opened the cell and was in his face a second later, forcing the medic's chin up, forcing him to look him in the eyes. It was early, but Starscream tended to rush through interrogations, besides, everyone knew him by sight. "Scared medic? Ready to talk?"
The chains holding Smokescreen to the wall only rattled softly, but the additional ache caused by the Con’s grip to his jaw only aggravated the flood of pain from all over his body. One of those rare times he gets called to the battlefield and it ended up being his last. ‘I’m just a nursing aide, not any commander. I don’t have anything to talk about. Unless you want to know the best way to cap off a K7 circuit.’

She’d only been walking back to her University’s accommodation building, but Marina was already lost. The huffy Octoling took out her phone to check the area map- but after two long days of visiting her family without charging the battery, it had gone flat. Typical. At least this wasn’t uncommon, she’d been lost in Inkopolis plenty of times, and the fact she’d taken a detour was the reason she’d forgotten the way in the first place. Now that the afternoon was creeping on, however, it’d be ideal to find assistance soon, or ask for directions. Unlike Inkopolis Square and the city centre, there weren’t a lot of maps in the suburbs.
Unfortunately, it didn’t look like there were a lot of people around this part of town either, and the ones that were didn’t look . . . safe to ask. Scanning the area, she at last found somebody that she felt she could speak to: another Octoling! They seemed to be keeping to themselves, but this made them easier to get to.
“Hey, you- I mean, uh—” Marina reminded herself that demanding assistance wasn’t exactly polite, and attempted a softer tone. “Hey. Do you know what street this is?”
Secretly, she was hoping to get more out of this conversation than just directions – she wasn’t friends with many other Octarians, especially ones that lived in Inkopolis. It’d be great if she could make acquaintance with this one - even with the species’ rising acceptance, they felt much easier to approach than Inklings, that was for sure.
So another week has passed since we went to preschool)) So far, we really like everything and I'm happy with Stella! My mother's heart is calm! But, and in moments it can be very difficult, but I hope that everything will be settled. Classes start next week, and Stella is already looking forward to them..🖤
