You asked for Nezumi, Shion, and Safu, so here are the edits I did for you! I’ve never done digital edits before, so I hope that you like these, even though they turned out more like digital collages. It was fun to try something new, so I really enjoyed your request. Happy holidays!

Font: Shorelines by The Branded Quotes (it’s free if you like it)

Text: All the text in the Nezushi pictures are loose interpretations of the anime’s end theme, Rokutousei no Yoru (Night of Sixth Magnitude Stars). Safu’s text is her poem from the anime (I Watch The World) and the lyrics to Kaze no Requiem (Requiem for the Wind), also from the anime, which she sings in duet with Nezumi.

Figures: The silhouettes are all official art, from the No. 6 Soundtrack CD. I edited the one of Eve because originally it was Eve and Safu, not Eve and Shion. Safu by herself is from the manga.

Other: Galaxy picture and gold texture were from a free wallpaper site. The gold one is specifically from psdgraphics.com and I swear by it right now.  I used a blue watercolour picture from Free Pretty Things For You as a layer mask for the individual pictures of Nezumi and Shion. The only thing I can’t remember is where I got the sort of swirly starry night texture I used in those same pictures. All other assets were created by me in photoshop.

Heya!! Your amazing calendar came into my hands today and it is beautiful 😍😍😍 I love everything, the little comics, the packaging and the little thank you drawings are simply the best!! I am super glad my mom thought to bring the package to me while visiting me in Norway, even if some little stars arrived on the hotel floor 😂😊 I cannot wait to start January now ❤️ So thank you again and I hope you all the best 🥰

My friend, who never read the books, understand everything that is going on at least and can follow 😊 she is saying that even if she doesn't have the answers to everything she feels like it is intriguing. I personally quite love the changes they make, as it can allow us to rediscover the story. I feel like it is sort of a gift for readers that can understand who exactly John Parry and his family are but not viewers? Or I just miss Will haha. But I can also feel that

…this is a bit disturbing 😅 but I haven’t read the books in more than 10 years so my memory is a bit confused about the storyline 😅 

But yes just giving away major plot surprises in just a few episodes is disturbing 🙄😔 I don’t want to be spoiled (it feels like it when I don’t remember the plot) by the serie while I am rereading the books 😅

Like I’ve said before, I don’t mind changes or them organizing the story differently, and I think that it’s interesting to re-construct the story in an order that isn’t entirely linear, as we’ve known it. I don’t have a problem with that, I thought that the incorporation of La Belle Sauvage was very smart, for example. 

My original post had to do with the storytelling focus overall and how the way in which it pushes Lyra’s perspective (not presence) aside can be seen as them considering that the story of a 12 year old girl protagonist might not be worth the attention of the audience they want to cater to, despite how complex the story is and despite who the audience of the books was. Time will tell, I guess. 

But, like I said, that is my personal worry and my interpretation, I understand that it’s an unpopular opinion and most people love the series as it is and disagree with me, or most people who are being vocal about it, at least. I’ll keep watching it, of course, and it doesn’t mean at this point that I won’t continue it, but it’s a worry that I have in terms of intentions and focus, not specifically on what they change or not. 

And I’m glad that your friend is liking it so far :)
