Hi again I'm back on my bullshit. Shion got interactions with Ram like I predicted. TWO infact, which is such a joy. I wanna talk about both conversations because Ohhhhhh my god they're so good.
Again these are MY interpretations pleasedont butcher me to deathg

First off I love the vocabulary they give Ramattra here. Rough definition of the word facsimile is "an exact copy", which very much plays into Shion's whole thing; she is a hollow, fake "copy" of humans, atleast appearance-wise. Ramattra seems very taken aback by Shion's appearance. Just the tone that he delivers that first line "What have you done to yourself?" is soooo ooooouhhh fuck yes. You can tell he's extremely concerned for her, if not slightly disturbed.
Shion's response is also very interesting. We know that, after the Crisis and in turn her Awakening, she was... more or less abused by the Hashimoto, being used like a "training dummy" and all. She had to rise to power through the very violence inflicted upon her by her human captors. And here, she uses those experiences to justify why she looks the way she does.
Also pointing out how Ram call Shion "sister". It's very in-line with how he talks to other omnic heroes like Zenyatta, he sees his relation to his fellow omnics somewhat like a kinship. He tries to convince Shion of the "strength in [omnics'] struggle", once again denouncing her humanlike appearance, but Shion rebuttles with "Thank the Iris for your wisdom". Which first off, OH MY GOD??? But also I think it's a breath if fresh air to see an omnic hero that has an explicit disconnection from the Iris as a belief.
Their second interaction starts as moreso the same song and dance, Ram denouncing Shion's human attributes and habits of acting humanlike. Whateeeeever. But that last part of Shion's first line ("You'd shackle me all the same") set off a HUGE buzzing radar in my head. This may be a massive reach, but I want to say that this could be referring to Ram's use of the Subjugators first seen in the PVE storyline. He talks about wanting peace for omnics, but his use of those in particular makes him a hypocrite because they quite literally attack civilian omnics and put their consciousness outside of their body, stealing their bodily autonomy. While he has good intentions with them just their functionality in general is quite fucked, and Shion could know this, and views it on the same level as how she was treated in the past by humanity. Again his response to her, about wanting peace "though [Shion] may not believe it", makes me believe even more that they're referring to the subjugation of omnics.
Also want to mention these lines for when Ramattra kills Shion. I don't have anything to say about them really I think they speak for themselves. Buuuuut they are very cool and give us a little bit more on how he sees her.
