Dominic West has jokingly lamented the success of his former co-stars Andrew Scott and Wendell Pierce — saying he has been “forgotten already”. West starred with Pierce in crime series The Wire, and with Fleabag actor Scott in 2014 film Pride. Caveats:

As a(n American) society, we have a very narrow range of behavior that we deem “acceptable” for heterosexual men

Which leads to things like the stigmatization of non-sexual touch between male peers

And the inability/unwillingness to be emotionally intimate with men

That being said, the straight men of my acquaintance do not:

Kiss their male friends on the mouth on their birthdays and post it on Twitter (two separate people)

Joke All. The. Time. about sleeping together, in multiple mediums

Talk on their Twitters about how they were rendered inarticulate/unable to function when seeing media of beautiful men (especially when one is the recipient of a Pulitzer, so wording is not really a problem)
