Mushroom forest for a fairyland... I've always loved a good mushroom forest
Fly agaric are the obvious go-tos, and had to be my first, but I'm planning on doing a bunch more free standing 'shrooms, plus some shelf fungi for the stumps

A dreamy pink and purple forest cemetery tileset!
It's not anything too elaborate, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
The tileset is on my Neocities, it's formatted for use in RPG Maker VX, but it's free to use in anything!
I just found my last attempt at a tileset! It's formatted poorly, and there's a lot of shading weirdness, but I think it's fun. There's a real dearth of sci-fi VX tiles, so I wanted to do something futuristic, and I always love a spaceship with a greenhouse section.
I probably won't be returning to this, there's so much stuff I'd redo that I think I may as well start from scratch, but I might post the tiles :)
Starting to play around with pixel art/making tilesets again! lil mini cemetary set I threw together yesterday and plan on continuing to add to/polish
YOOOO PLAY RE:KINDER. IT'S NOT VERY LONG AND ITS ALL ABOUT PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND HOW THE WORLD IGNORES THEM OR DOESN'T THINK ANYTHING'S WRONG AND ITS REALLY WELL-WRITTEN AND AN AMAZING GAME.
Space Adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I have this idea for a game that is basically like blending One Piece, Disgaea, and Mass Effect into one wild ride. Players would be in control of a renowned space captain and her/his crew searching for a lost ship said to be filled with treasure the likes of which the universe can only dream about. However the lost ship has been lost for so long that no one believes it exists anymore, save for the captain. Armed with a stubborn belief the captain and crew set off amongst the stars in hopes of finding the lost ship and the fame and fortune that comes with it.
At the start of the game players will get to choose their captain. They can choose the gender, the character class, and the personality, all of which can be changed later if the player so wishes. Yes I said all of it can be changed. Gender will have an effect on how some (not all) of the NPCs react to the captain, and changing the gender will also have an effect. I understand that having this in the game might rock some boats and will require a lot of attention but I think it would be an interesting topic to explore. Character classes will effect what kind of special attacks, armor, weapons, and gadgets the captain can use at base but through a job system the player can choose both a primary and secondary class that will offer up some interesting options in combat. NPCs will also react to character classes differently but only in specific circumstances (I'm still iffy on how to implement this but it is something I think would be cool). Personality only effects dialogue and dialogue choices made throughout the game.
After making the captain the players will get to choose from 5 starting crews which effects which characters join the captain on his/her quest from the start. The player will not have advanced knowledge of who is in each crew but they will know what classes each one is and how they view the captain. The 5 crew types are; "Fans" (The crew would follow the captain straight into a sun if she asked), "Mercs" (The crew is in it for the money and the fame and would betray the captain for the right price), "Mystics" (The crew believes the captain is on a quest from god), "Misfits" (The only place they belong is with each other), and "Explorers" (The crew wants to see new things and map the universe). Each crew has 5 members and each member has his/her/its on story and side missions.
I'm not going to discuss the plot too much but the game will have choices that effect how the player will eventually get to the end. By exploring planets and doing quests and missions the player will have to choose where in the universe they want to go and where they will ignore. The first area will include 4 planets for example, one that serves as the intro world and 3 to explore. By exploring the planets the crew learns clues about the lost ship and where to find more. Maybe a museum has a piece of the ship or maybe an old nomad has seen it, but the crew can only explore one lead at a time. If they choose to follow one lead they ignore the others and head to a unique path in the story. Some paths do cross down the line but the choices of what lead to follow will make replayability more enjoyable. There are also 3 sub-plots in the game that can be pursued further or ignored if the player so wishes. The ending also changes depending on which path was taken and which leads were followed so that the end result feels unique. This may seem like a tall order but I enjoy making huge plots like this so it feels more like fun then work.
As much fun as it all seems and how invested I seem in the idea there are things that will keep me from making this project a full reality. 1) I'm not very good at pixel art. 2) Part of the art style I want is a anime/manga-ish look for the cutscenes and special attacks (ala disgaea) but I'm not very good at drawing that style. 3)I have no funds in which to hire people who are good at pixel art or anime/manga style unless I crowd sourced the money via kickstarter/indiegogo/gofundme. 4)In order to use any of those crowd sourcing sites I'd need to have the game partly made so I wasn't just asking for money with no proof that I was even going to make said game. 5)I don't have enough money saved up to be able to take time away from my current job so I could focus on making this game.
Maybe some day I can work on getting the funds together to make this a reality but right now it's just fun to plan and create. I think this would be a cool game to make and play and there really isn't anything like it right now I don't think. It is fun to dream and create. Too bad reality is limited.
anybody know how the heck to download rpgmaker vx for a mac? i have the thing but winebottler confuses me and i don't know what i'm doing at all help
