do you have any tips/advice/guidance for someone just starting out as a face claim blog, in terms of tagging ethnicity and race? i try but i know i get the majority of them wrong. how can i be more accurate with the race of my fc's? thanks :) (i don't know if you consider this a general question or not. feel free to disregard if it's not)
Yes! I do have some advice.
First, google “celeb name ethnicity”. Unless it’s an obscure celebrity, at least half of the time there will be a reputable website like EthniCelebs that can tell you their exact ethnicity.
You can try typing their name into EthniCelebs itself in the search bar on the site. It’s the most legit site I’ve found, which typically cites sources for a certain celeb’s ethnicity.
Less reputable websites you can check are CelebRiot, HealthyCeleb, and FamousFix.
If you have an inkling of what their ethnicity might be, just do a google search with “celeb name ethnicity”. Often times articles or interviews may come up with that information. That’s how I found out about Melanie Martinez’s ethnicity back in the day when she was on The Voice (by searching “melanie martinez latina”).
Tip: don’t tag their ethnicity, or tag it as “ethnicity:unknown” or something, unless you find a source to avoid spreading false information.
