RPK-74

Tuesday morning the regional administration building of Kharkiv region was completely cleared of separatists. During the liberation of the building, guns and hand grenades were used against police. Several policemen were badly injured.

RPK-74
Fixed stock version of the 5.45x39mm support weapon. If you've followed my blog for a while you'll remember that I have an RPK-74 kit being assembled. Rifle in the photo isn't mine since I have the 74M, which is the folding stock model.
I should get it back from the gunsmith late this month or early November. Had a bit of a problem locating an original or at least correct style scope mount rail.
Bulge-less
An RPK-74 build that for the most part would be considered complete. Those familiar with the AK family though will notice that it has the wrong type of receiver. It lacks the bulged trunnion which means it probably isn't 1.5mm thick. NoDak Spud no longer makes the RPK-74 receiver so as a last resort for some kit owners, they go for a standard receiver to complete their build.
The gun is functional and safe, but not entirely correct, which drops the value. Speaking of RPK's, I should get my 74M back by late September or early October.
