Downloading Prorgrams directly on the C64 with RR-Net Hardware

What do you need?

OK this is my shopping list:

1. Commodore C64 main board. It could be a old one. The SID chip is not needed, but the CIAs. So these kind of main board could be found on eBay for about 30€

2. power supply. Also on eBay for 25€

3. Breadbox. I choose a breadbox from IKEA (called MAGASIN) for 15€. It is a little bit too small, so we have to cut it.

4. SD2IEC adapter. I choose the SD2IEC mini from 16xEight for about 26€.

5. SD card. It could be a old one. I choose on with only 8MB.

6. EPROM 27C64 (or similar) and a PROM to EPROM adapter. The adapter could be easily build out of two IC sockets (see here).

7. some wires and a LED (I took the wires from an old PC)

8. A network card for the C64: I recommend the RR-Net at Individual Computers. Its fully supported by Contiki-OS.

9. A Windows PC running Windows 7 or 10 on it. And of course a SD card reader/writer to store the software on it.

10. Time! Yes, you have to buy some time, because its a lot to learn.

And of course you need some tools:

- soldering iron, EPROM Programmer (e.g. TL866), some software (later more about it)

And you need  some enthusiasm.
