Learning about the Chinese Literature, especially the work of Ma Jian made me realize that change can be brought by words and books and sometimes the pen is actually mightier than the sword. Just like what Jose Rizal did to the Philippines, he tackled issues about the government and oppression in the country. Yes, it mah have cost him his freedom, but he sparked the eyes of revolution whenever someone is reading their works. This made me realize that, words are indeed as powerful as they say they were. Words can produce actions and that is the reason why literature is important to this world. Literature can have a major impact to how the world works and can make changes to the things that must be changed. Literature is a powerful thing in this world and we must not take it for granted. We must value it, cherish it, read about it. After doing all of that, who knows what changes it can do to your life as well.
