Sangwon fixates on the lantern cradled between his hands, tracing each letter meticulously as he rereads the wish inscribed upon it. Perhaps his desire lacks the uniqueness required for it to be granted, but he committed it to paper nonetheless. In the realm of wishes, Sangwon harbors no faith. If the spiritual rituals held any truth, he might have been deemed the luckiest man alive. Yet, in this moment, a weight of nothingness settles upon him. He perceives himself as nobody, and a wish like his could never be granted to someone of such insignificance.
As a Yi family member, Sangwon never really grasped his role within the household. The Agni Kai is going to provide a lens to delve into his evolving perspective. I aim to depict his realization that, despite always being a Yi, there's intrinsic value to his identity and name. This understanding may unfold through his interactions with friends, family, or even foes, prompting a profound shift in his understanding of self-worth.
I hope to witness more vulnerability in Sangwon's demeanor. Typically, he conceals his emotions, presenting a cold exterior and actively avoiding situations where he might be exposed. However, during the Agni Kai, I aim to place him in scenarios that force his emotions into the spotlight. Whether he seeks victory or a final opportunity to express his love for those who matter to him.
