So i just read rise of the school for good and evil and there are So many gay ships? (Mostly rhian swooning over vulcan and hook) like whaaaaa(rhian please stop swooning over every hot guy you see) I got confused over which ship to ship

Kyma is growing, at first i was confused, why is she making out with aladdin like there was no feelings realization or swooning theyre just like little crush=> time to kiss

So aladdin comes in the first chapter and is the minor background character cuz focus of books is on twins and why they decided to go to war

This book goes on to say that humans are morally grey( rhian can be evil,rafal can be good)

So the book starts with banter between the mistral twins which ends in sting the other brother(neither wants to admit it) and then it ends up as a competition and then theyre gonna go to war???

Ideal pet... hmmm. I mean how exotic am I allowed to be? If we're talking run of the mill pets, then I guess I'd say a dog, but if you're talking exotic, I think hedgehogs are kinda cute. So... now you have options.

Snowballing is what happens with a lot of my fics - especially the ones written for gifts and exchanges. LOL

Hello hello, sorry I’ve been MIA. Real life has been overwhelming. I’m close to finishing, but I need to go through and dramatically edit a few things. I prefer to edit than just write tbh, so hopefully that will go smoothly. What’s your writing process? Do you go back and edit to death? I rewrite a ton and I’m also slow so these exchanges can be challenging sometimes haha. Have a great week! -santa

I hear you about RL. My writing process depends on the fic, but usually I outline in some way, sometimes more detailed than others, then I write, and then I let it sit for a day or two before I go back and edit. Not too much though, because otherwise I end up making it worse than improving it. One thing I found works really well is reading the fic aloud.

My trouble with exchange fics is that they tend to snowball, like, my first Secret Santa ended up novel length. LOL

I'm perfectly okay at having Zelena as an antagonist. It's where she belongs after all. I will give you some options in case you don't want to use her. Blue, Fiona, Hook. Any of them would be fine with me.

Camp Nano - Day 6

There is no tent with words on today because I have been working on my Summer Gift Exchange fic, which is a big secret, so...  just know that so far it has 1,200 or so words.

Hello hello! Your gifter is back with a message that hasn’t been eaten by tumblr. Plot has been found! Now I just have to write it. Okay, more questions: feelings on Bae? Any and all. And feelings on other side characters, specifically female for, uh, reasons. You mentioned you’re a teacher—do you usually work with younger kids or is this summer something out of the ordinary? I hope your day is getting off to a good start!

Hello! And yay for plot!!!!

I love Bae, though there are times when I could slap him upside the head! He's another character was at the mercy of the writers. I wanted more of Adult!Bay (MRJ is an awesome actor) wrestling with his feelings for and about his father; and his relationship with Belle too. I would have liked to have seen a little more of the dichotomy between Baelfire vs Neal (if that makes any sense). His death was a travesty, but perhaps inevitable - and I don't just mean because the writers wanted Emma with Hook. There was just too much for the writers to handle (and most of them were incapable) if he'd have survived.

Female side characters... Love Ruby, and feel cheated out of a lot of good friendship moments between her and Belle. Regina, love to hate her early on, but I do think her redemption was maybe too easily won... for what she did to Belle alone she should have been a marked woman from the moment Gold woke, even though he promised Belle he wouldn't kill her and all that... the antagonism was great, but... I dunno. I guess I wanted a better reckoning, even if reckoning was the uneasy peace that seemed too easily won between her and Rumple, and between her and the others too. Blue... wicked, tricksy... FALSE! (Ahem... channeling my inner Gollum there.). I love Granny's sarcasm. I am not overly fond of Zelena (understatement) obviously... I think I'd lose my Rumbelle card if I didn't feel that way. The others female characters, I don't really have a feeling one way or another. In case you wanted to know my male fav's they are David, for his 'bromance' with Rumple. Jefferson... um, given one of my tags is "I will always write Jefferson" I can't really get enough. I also like Archie, and Grumpy for his friendship with Belle. Hope all that rambling helps.

I usually work with high school special education kids, as a TA, but that's mainly because of stupid bureaucracy that doesn't recognize my British teaching license. I was a teacher for almost 20 years in the UK before moving to the US. Anyway, now I'm just waiting on my license to move back into Elementary. So yeah, summer school is an unusual thing for me /here/, but it is where I specialized before, and all because of Covid, the school district I work for is trying to catch the kids up from all their 'learning loss.'

So far the day is going well. I'm about to throw myself into another session of cleaning - get all my chores done in the morning so that this afternoon I can concentrate on writing. I currently have Peter Gabriel blasting full volume as motivation. LOL
