I hate that Ncuti was finally settling into his role as the Doctor. I hate that they didn't even give him a chance to succeed. I hate that they keep pandering to older fans, when they keep preaching about "this is going to be for a new audience."
But most of all, I hate that when Ncuti was finally given his time to shine, it was once again overshadowed by an actor from RTDs "Golden Era"
tired of rtd fans going “god forbid a character have a happy ending”. he did. when he was regenerating he had donna and mel beside him to see him off. he was content and he even said “it’s time.” and he was ready to go this time. that was a perfect and happy ending for him. and tbh the only thing i really expected from the giggle was the regen scene. i had no standards other than that.
the toymaker was brilliant and ncuti was brilliant. but thanks to rtds inability to get rid off DT, we got a colossal amount of fan service for a mediocre ending and having DT eclipse both Ncuti and Jodie because now the NMDs will say that 15 isn’t the real doctor. now i’m started to dislike david’s doctor because rtd is just beating this dead horse for 19 years.
11, 12, and 13 are now my favourite doctors. the incredible dw anniversaries were the Day of the Doctor for the 50th and the Power of the Doctor for the 60th.
Russel T Davies: I'm not going to retcon any of Chibnall's stuff, he's my good friend and I have nothing but deep respect for the man.
Also Russel T Davies: *Has 14th Doctor call the Nobles his family despite 13th having The Fam and settles down with then and Donna despite 13th saying the only person she would settle with would be Yaz*
Me: You fucking liar
AND ANOTHER THING (i know i sound like a broken record but honestly this has been bugging me). the timeless child twist (which i actually liked) did NOT change canon, it added to it, and actually answered a lot of unanswered questions. and it was dragged through the dirt by the fans.
and now we have the bigeneration thing- more importantly what rtd said about the timeline (which ACTUALLY changes the canon)- and everyone’s like “you should appreciate change” and “learn to see things from a new perspective” and “there is no doctor who canon”.
which just confirms that if rtd had introduced the timeless children everyone would be sucking up to him. un-fucking-believable.
What’s that 12 quote from Dr Mysterio about everything ending and that being sad but everything begins again and that’s always happy? Paraphrasing there but that’s the entire ethos of the show! You can’t have the rebirth without the tragedy! 11 vowing to remember every line of when the Doctor was him, 12 wanting to rest easy and ‘Doctor, I let you go’…none of these mediations work if it’s not a death for that incarnation!
exactly. rtd is a coward who can’t kill any character to save his life. he’s made the show a no stakes, no danger show. to paraphrase another 12 quote, time to take the stabilisers off your bike. except now rtd has drilled the stabilisers on again. the show is pointless now. the entire message in moffat era- and even in chibnalls era- is now gone. if moffat or chibnall had done this they would’ve been thrown under the bus. rtd is just an arrogant prick who never learns from his mistakes. i had such high hopes for 14/15 era. doctor who may finally be dying. and i’m so sad. this show has been my world throughout lockdown. it’s the only reason i got through it. now it’s fading.
Russell T Davies has explained that the events of The Giggle have far-reaching implications.
No.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO.
You get the hell out. You get the hell out and you die.
Go away and never come back.
You think you can take the only fucking thing I have left now you've FUCKED Doctor Who because of your SHITTY, SELFISH hunger to NEVER LET GO OF TENNANT?
You think you can make yourself GO DOWN IN HISTORY by making every fucking Doctor Who story play by YOUR fucking new rules?
Get the fuck out of my fandom, RTD.
You. Out. Now.
Every time I see Moffat and Chibnall hate that goes on about 'pointless characters without an arc only there for a joke', 'only knows how to write one kind of woman', 'kills off characters for shock value', 'uses Ex Deus Machinas to resolve their poorly thought out plots', 'did their best at ruining the show', and other shit like that rooted in 'well, I didn't watch it but someone else told me it was like that' and 'I just watched enough to make a bad faith reading', I would like everyone to be reminded that, unlike all of the other Revival Showrunners, RTD did all of that and more for real.
