An adaptable, but often aggravated young man from lands unknown. He begrudgingly accepts the mantle of Prefect when all else refuse the title. Though largely emotionally distant, he seems to have a soft spot for well-meaning idiots, and is often roped into Freshman shenanigans because of it.

Originally of Daybreak Town and present for its fall during the Keyblade War, Yuuen initially remembers none of his past when he awakens in his coffin at Night Raven College.

As the year goes on, his abilities resurface and his memories reawaken. Interpreting his world's fall as proof that all those he loved are dead, it takes time to find his equilibrium again. However, with his skills returned, he's able to study and practice magic with the rest of his classmates, albeit with a higher level of difficulty, as the magic from his world manifests differently.

Magic from Medals

"The fated land will be the battleground for a great war. Light will see defeat and expire, while darkness prevails evermore. They decided to draw on the powers of the book to prevent that from happening. The Medals you're using are one of those powers. They harness unimaginable forces from the future to protect the light and keep the world safe from the inevitable darkness."

While Medals can be summoned, essentially from nothing, in Yuuen's experiences, the strongest magic can only manifest when one has strong bonds of with others. In fact, for him, once in control of his abilities again, simply befriending others in this new world will cause new Medals to manifest.

Keyblade: Missing Ache

His favored Keyblade from Daybreak Town and the one that answers when called from NRC is Missing Ache.

With attributes focused on Speed and buffing Reversed medals, in a school full of ill-tempered bullies that keep headbutting their way into his life, as new Medels manifest, he's only getting stronger. Funny how things happen.

In RPG terms, Yuuen primarily functions as a DoT DPS, meant to bleed out targets as he evades them. Physically, he delivers a mild-to-moderate amount of damage with each blow, landing them in a high speed flurry.

Unique Spell: Arrow Blitz

Based on Sora's KHIII Blitz Formchange, Yuuen adopts a Form change that enhances speed and mobility—allowing brief unassisted flight and increasing the length of combo strikes, as well as temporarily transforming his keyblade into a bow that fires off elementally charged arrows.

I wasn’t ready for the suffering necessary to learn the art style just yet, so I played god with game assets.

Cobbled together from one (1) kalim, several deuces, and riddle’s bow—with his tentative headshot just sort of pasted in there, behold: a cunty-looking Yuuen with his very punchable-looking face XD

So as i’m working on cementing a design for Yuuen, something stupid’s happened XD

As OCs do, eventually, I can track down which share figurative DNA either, between each other, or canon characters. Yuuen is not a new character for me. However, he was extremely underdeveloped. He was originally very soft spoken, and secretive about his problems—often downplaying what he wanted. Flash forward, those traits, and a portion of his original picrew sprite got reused for Teodoro, my Hogwarts Legacy PC. Jump forward again, Teodoro has been developed MUCH MORE, and I begin working on Yuuen again...

He’s been giving me difficulty design-wise, so i’ve hit up a bunch of picrew to lazily gather up a bunch of concepts, and pick what I like best. Then I start sketching. Because I’ve been so vastly removed from the super skinny anime boy look for so long (the last anime fandom I was in, the giant beefcakes dudes were my favorites), and because their color palettes are similar (dark hair, tan/dark skin, with glasses) he just wound up looking like a fairer skinned evil Teo. XDD but to be fair, a normal neck and a giant slumpy cardigan do add like 30lbs when comparing to the OG series art style.

CLEARLY I HAVE MORE WORK TO DO.

He does look so incredibly bitchy though XD he’s winding up a LOT meaner than his original iteration and frankly, I think that’s hilarious.

Also, all hail a tall wearing the shorty's bow-necktie. (As you can see, he used to wear one, so adopting it again was only natural)

Anyway congrats to me for accidentally reinventing the wizard wheel.

Partner and I joked about Jack/Ortho, so naturally we ship it now. The upside of having a brother who makes you a zillion interchangeable parts is that if anything gets gummed up and you don’t have the time to run a deep clean, you can always swap out and ask your boyfriend nicely to tidy up the mess you begged him to make. Good news: Jack might not enjoy standing out on the lawn hosing you out, but by god, he’ll do it.
