The color red

(Mini sibling au!Hyojin fic)

Setting: Hyojin with elder sister(reader stand-in) meeting each other at family home before Hyojin filmed episode 1 of Rtk

(This would a quick one shot and sorry of its messy. Was trying to get the idea out ever since midnight and I was insomniac for some weird reason)

• Your boyfriend dropped you off in front of your residence apartment. You blow him a kiss goodbye and then watch him driving farther from where you stand before you enter the premise.

• You checked the mailbox before taking the elevator up to you the floor you lived.

• You announced that you are back home the moment you entered the household. You instantly notices a pair of white sneakers placed in front of you. Its a new sneakers but you recognises the brand is your brother's favourite.

• You also could smell a faint smell of your brother's favourite dish.

• You happily took off your heels and hurried yourself to the living room to confirm your presumption.

• The boy with red hair in your home living room proves you are right.

• Surprised to see him even though you knew it was him deep down.

• "Welcome home Jinnie" you welcomed him in a bright tone. Its been weeks ever since you met him.

• Hyojin is lying on the couch comfortably while looking at his Phone. He noticed someone coming in and take a glance out of curiosity.

• Finding it's you who returned he asks , "Oh hey sis, how's your date tonight? When can I get to be an uncle?"

• He also added that your mum is in the showers.

• "Shut up." You retort him with a joking tone while helping yourself with a glass of water in the kitchen.

• "Missing mom's cooking again?" You lightheartedly questions him while turning the door knob of your room.

• "Well we are going film Road to Kingdom episode 1 soon and I think I won't be stopping by home anytime soon in near future." He explains while you rush into your room quickly drops down your belongings and joins him in the living room.

• Hyojin alters his pose from lying down to sitting so that you could sit on the couch too.

• "Are you staying the night at home, or?"

• "Yea, I'm staying for tonight but manager hyung will pick me up at 4am tomorrow. Need to practise."

• You nods at his reply and brings in the second topic.

• "You really like having your hair red don't you? "

• Your younger brother pauses for a bit before acknowledging what you have said. He puts down his phone while he goes through his thoughts.

• "I am weirdly attached to this color and it somehow works for me I am not sure why." Hyojin combs his bangs while commenting.

• Hyojin continues mentioning that the color red accompanied him with life changing and important career moments.

• You could not help but loses the chirpy look on your face after hearing that from him. You flashed back at the moments he brought up. Debut, Mixnine and the release of We must love.

• And now Road to Kingdom. Ah another survival show. Since you are very aware of your younger sibling's career growth throughout the years, you felt yourself making connections but you could not bring yourself to ask him about your assumptions. You still remember the day how devastated he was at the news that Mixnine debut was cancelled.

• You gain back your usual self quickly once you heard your mother comes out from the shower room

• You stand up and walk past by him to the shower room. Before making your exit, you ruffled his hair and cheered on for him

• "Do your best in the show. I believe in you. "
