just a rant about the recent RttS chapter thus far:
do you guys think Mel every told the centaur clan about Talita?
like... a part of me thinks that they....didn't, aside from telling them that she works there and that she's a centaur too. based on the first conversation Talita has with the matriarch, it didn't even seem like they were told she was raised by humans.
of course i know Mel is naive, didn't do their research about centaur culture, and thinks that her and the clan would just magically get along, but i think it would've been at least a bit better to also warning them like "hey, she was raised by humans and tends to behave like one. there might be miscommunications and she will be very awkward since she doesn't see centaurs very often. please be patient with her."
but what really ticked me off with this recent chapter was how they didn't even stick around when Talita saw them. just "oh, those are your new crew! have fun!". not even an attempt to properly introduce both of them after they've got there. I'm certain if they'd stuck around and saw the interaction between her and the matriarch (Talita smiling, Verengt misinterpreting as aggression) they'd at least would step in and be like "oh, she's doesn't want to bite you, she's just smiling!", and that would also lead to Mel explaining that she was raised by aliens and such. you know, see that there's an issue and attempt to clear it up?
but no, Mel just.... left. what would they have done if, say, Verengt or one of the clan members actually got really aggressive and attacked Talita BECAUSE she mistook her attempt at a friendly face as an threat? is Mel gonna realized just how badly they fumbled it and actually try to set things right? or are they going to try and downplay it (provided it doesn't end in her getting horribly injured or worse)?
again, i know Mel is kind of stupid for even attempting to do this without Talita's consent or any form of research, but at this point it seems like it's bordering on malice.
