I love RHCP! I don’t mean to be a little over excited but they’re one of my favorites and I think it’s really cool that you like them too. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to this song particularly, though.

YAY!!!! I LOVE them so much, and I have ever since high school. One of my best memories of TIP is one night when my RA group was in a van going out somewhere, and Under the Bridge came on the radio, and we all just spontaneously started singing along with it. :)  And of course dancing at high school dances to their version of Love Rollercoaster.

It's just - I have so much trouble understanding humans, and sometimes I get so mad at all the destruction and death, and then last night I was reading some of Joe Bageant's essays, and his words helped me understand, and then it was like...

I guess after denial and anger and bargaining and depression comes acceptance, and last night I had a glimpse of that acceptance, what comes at the end after you realize that it's not that humans are evil, that they are doing these things out of a considered purpose, that they are aware of the results of their actions and they choose to do these things anyway. And that from the perspective of the universe our hate and ignorance and suffering and destruction of the environment that we need to live does not matter very much anyway.

In the timeline of existence humans are still just toddlers at best, and the majority of us are unable to understand the systems that we find ourselves in. And the systems keep spinning, keep crushing existence under their weight, and if you want to survive as a fairly aware person, if you want to keep from becoming a musselman, as they called a person who had lost the will to live in the death camps of the Holocaust, you have to let go. You have to let go of the idea of control, the idea that you, or anyone else, have any power in the face of human immaturity and ignorance, let go of the idea that our little drama here on this planet has any real meaning or importance or permanence. Because after all eventually there will be the heat death of the universe. All things end, even human consciousness.

Love is the only way to survive. It's the only possible answer. The only way to keep from killing yourself, from checking out of this vale of tears and constant sorrow once you've seen it and its inevitability. You walk through the vale with your head held high and your heart held out in your hand, and you give it freely to everyone and everything you see, and there is meaning in that. That is the only meaning.

As for how I could think otherwise - that's a long story right there. The important thing though is that I am figuring things out and learning self-esteem now, yes! There's just little bumps along the way, is all. And you've helped me over this bump, and I am very grateful for that.

I remember you used song Wires by The Neighbourhood a while ago as a soundtrack for Seth and now every single time it pops up in my IPod I think about you and Seth :)

Awwww. Well, I think about you and your awesome Seth fanfic an awful lot, and how awesome you are as a person, and it's just all sorts of awesome! Which that is an awesome song, lol, so I'm glad you like it. :)

I think that about a lot of people, including you. I just really love seeing everyone’s different personalities. I don’t know if anyone thinks about me that way, though. I feel kind of insignificant sometimes. Not really here but in real life.

Me too me too! I love thinking about everyone's personalities. And you are one of my friends and I think about you that way and I want you to be happy.

You are NOT insignificant! *hugs you a lot* I think that you have all sorts of significance. I might not know you IRL, but that's just an accident of where we happen to live. I think that you are full of wonder and beauty.

Yay I love all my beautiful lovely friend people!!!! Thank you lots! :)

The spousal person says I can't have my presents until this afternoon, because if I get them now I won't want to go to work, lol. Which I've got to go get ready now, sigh.

I am happy and lucky, relatively healthy, I am sure that I will have a great day, and yesterday I did three dungeons in WoW and got some upgrades, so yes the caves are full of treasure! ;)
