What Rubblepelt didn't account for was a badger sniffing out their trap, and finding Rubblepelt first.

Rubblepelt, warrior of Cliffclan

A senior warrior whom lost his family in the River of Raids. He’s become an empty shell of his former self and suffers from survivor’s guilt. He endlessly works himself to exhaustion and even then has trouble sleeping. His clanmates can’t do much but watch on in sympathy. Due to the trauma, he can’t speak up or very well, leaving himself cut off from everyone else. He doesn’t communicate much aside from vague paw gestures or nodding/shaking his head.
