My family never took my Japanese studies serious either. Tbh I don't think anybody did when I told them what kind of university I went to, everyone just goes "why? why Japanese and not Chinese" because people always assume you will pick a field that has growth and jobs instead of something you actually like... But now I have a pretty unique skill set and am set to work abroad. So don't pay attention to what other people say, just care about your own future. :)

Our high school actually required us to take a language (Japanese, French, or Spanish) for at least one year. We both took it for all four of our HS years... it’s weird because like I’m Vietnamese so it’s not strange that we are able to speak different languages? (Most everyone is bilingual because Vietnamese and English) ... but it’s specifically /Japanese/ that most of the adults ( well really my uncles) that do the whole “[insert random noises pretending they know Japanese] What did I say in Japanese?” And... it’s so offensive? They don’t care when my cousins or aunts know Spanish... but because Japanese is associated with Anime they kinda look down upon it...? Or I really don’t know the reasoning since it’s not just my sis and I that watch anime in our family... we just happen to know the language...???? 

They even go like “oh look it’s the two Japanese girls” when they talk about my sis and I. And Im like WTF??? I’m Vietnamese-American (WHICH THEY KNOW SINCE THEY ARE FAMILY OTL ). Just because I know another language does not change my ethnicity...????? They are ‘joking’ but its just offensive and rude and racist. :/

My sis and I learned Japanese as a hobby... so I duno... I think it shouldn’t be something they make fun of? It’s a HARD language... and I’m starting to forget a lot of it since it’s been a while since I had a proper class and I don’t use it ever day;;;; -siiiiiiiiiiigh-

i'm still bothered by a review i got for my fic that was basically a questionnaire of my whole fic and the universe. I'm always excited to receive huge comments (because they're rare), but when you only comment to ask a bajillion of questions of how does this work and will this happen/show up in your fic... and really why are yousointerestedinhowfemaleshavesexinthisficwhenthepairingsaremale/male? Also thanks for saying I write Tim as a whiny bitch. He technically hasn't appeared in the main storyline for more than a few sentences and the only major chapter he appeared in it was a flashback type thing and there was no dialogue.

love how you apologize for all the questions, but then ask more. ther are a total of 14 questions in your comment (and this isn't counting questions that have multiple parts to them). an 795 word comment where like half of it is questions makes me not sure how to respond, but also make me feel pretty upset because one I don't know the answers to most of them and two why can't you just WAIT TO SEE if these questions will be answered later in the fic? I'm still working on the fic for goodness sake. It's only 7 chapters (around 7k words) in. and it's BARELY started. :c

Yay mom... again with the 'you need to exercise' thing. I KNOW. Dont gotta rub it in my face. I would exercise if I wasn't so exhausted all the time. I've told her over and over that Im busy with schoolwork and all that and I actually walk to all my classes instead of talking the bus (it can take me like 20-30 minutes to walk from the car to my class). I love how she tells me 'to exercise more' when... I am preparing lunch. It's almost 5pm and I haven't eaten lunch yet. I don't eat breakfast. I can literally starve myself for over 12 hours and when I do eat (my mom actually telling me to go eat) and then tells me I need to exercise and lose weight. ALWAYS WITH THIS WEIGHT THING. I've told her I already think poorly of myself, but does she really need to rub it in? =~=

And also dad and mom have taken over the dinner table because they are working on karaoke stuff... so my sis and I are gonna have to eat out in front on the glass table and couch (oh god my sis better not drop food onto it). OTL

Not to mention mom yelled at me and my sis to clean up our bathroom (we like our controlled mess) because other people use it to. And like... replace the toilet paper roll when it runs out, I'm like I do. It's when OTHER people use our bathroom, they don't replace it. And then she's like but it's YOUR bathroom and that's why you need to clean it. Seriously? My sis and I are FINE with how OUR bathroom looks like. It's the fact OTHER people are using it and complaining that all the sudden I get yelled at. It's OUR bathroom there are two other bathrooms in the house. One for my parents and the other for my brother and his gf, yet everyone uses my sis' and mine. I get yelled at and not even 10 minutes later mom comes into my room and asks me to do stuff for her (print out lyrics because she doesn't know how to use a computer ).

I was even productive today and did my hw. :c

Thoughts on new Dick comic thingy.

I feel like they're pulling a kinda Jason Todd here. Comes back from the dead to use guns and pulls away from the Batfam. oAo

Broose you need to keep better tabs on your kids. Dick just died (for a few seconds?) and now he's off to be a spy. Dami's dead. Jason's gone off to somewhere I don't even know. Steph is uh kinda there? (wasn't there something about her finding out that her dad was Cluemaster?) Tim's getting rebooted right?

I really wished if they were to give Dick a new role it would stay within the Batfamily stuff. ;A; Hell I would've been alright if they made him into something new like a new type of Oracle role. Help behind the scenes more or whatever. :c

ALSO. FINGERSTRIPES? WHY YOU TAKE THEM AWAY AGAIN?!

Also don't spies have to kill people for the mission if necessary? I don't think Dick would want to do that... D:

When your sister wants beignets and wants you to go with her. You say no because you're busy and why can't she just go get it herself and then she gets angry and is now being a grump. Geez you're 24. You know how to drive. This place isn't that far. Go by yourself since YOU'RE the one that wanted the beignets.

Whenever YOU'RE busy I always have to wait, sometimes HOURS for you to be done and because I'm busy now you're giving me an attitude? Wtf? I spent a lot of time baking these past couple of days and YOU ate a majority of the cookies I baked. W.T.F.

So unappreciated here.

Sometimes dad can be really unreasonable when it comes to things he doesn't know about. Like how his pc has net connection problems but the rest of the computers in the house work fine. He then turns to me or my brother and demands us to fix it... as if we know what is going on. Most of the time we can fix it, but we're both not... experts? We both really, most of the time, don't know the reason for my dad's disconnection/slow net. Yet he expects us to fix everything that has to do with his computer/internet stuff?

For example, he got angry at me because his email wasn't working... but it was just yahoo mail servers that were down at the moment? But he still expected me to fix it yet it was completely out of my capabilities. :c

RIght now he's getting angry/upset because the net connection of his desktop is really bad.

Trying on ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) for Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday.... mom called me fat again and told me to exercise to lose weight and get skinnier. Ao dai are very skin tight and I don't have any of my own (I never had any of my own... since I was a kid) so I always have to wear one from my aunts' collection... but all my aunts are shorter and just 'smaller' than me... so naturally these dresses will be tight on me or just won't fit. Siiighhhhh. Funny thing is mom was like "you have nice boobs"... but she wants me to lose weight and that would of course make my boobs get smaller...? I duno. oAo;; It's just ugh. Mom srsly. She knows how I don't like her commenting on my weight, yet she still does it. ;A; Mom stahp.

Well, have you considered actually saying these things to her instead of us? You can’t fix the problem without addressing it directly.

No. Just fucking no. I don't care if my mom made me upset. I may talk about some things she does that makes me sad or angry, but she is my mom and I love her. She does a CRAPLOAD of things for me and she has to deal with a lot more than me. You don't get to say stuff about my mom. she has dealt with enough crap growing up. She dealt with shit in life. She had to fucking leave Vietnam to an unknown place because of the war. She and my family. You do not mess with my family.

This is my blog. I can post whatever I want here. And yes, it may be the occasional rant. But this is MY blog. I never addressed anyone directly. I never said anywhere in my rant that "Oh you guys my mom was being a total jerk. You all, she said [insert stuff]."

No. I happened to type up what happened in my life right there. You don't know what my relationship with my mom is. You don't get to say things like for me to SELL MY MOM'S BELONGINGS. That is HIGHLY disrespectful to my mom.

Have you ever even CONSIDERED that while my mom said these horrible things to me, SHE DOES IT BECAUSE SHE LOVES ME. It hurts yes. But to my mom, personal appearance is important. It's not to me, but it is to her. She's a BEAUTY INSTRUCTOR. Yes. My mom has flaws. I KNOW. But she is my mom and everyone has flaws. Her's happens to be that she thinks people's appearance/image is important. 

She also hasn't been lying. I HAVE been gaining a bit of weight. So yes, I am a bit 'bigger'.

You never even taken into consideration what my relationship with my mom is like. I was raised to be RESPECTFUL to my elders, especially my parents. It goes against EVERYTHING i believe in. It goes against /me/ to try talking back to them. I am not that type of person. She may say some hurtful things from time to time, but she is not a bad person. EVERYONE says hurtful things now and then. She wants me to be healthy and HER image of healthy is a bit skinnier than what I currently am.

It seems as though you think something can be simply be fixed easily. You don't take into consideration how if I were to talk to my mom that it might affect our relationship. I can handle a bit of mean commentary. My mom is getting older. She and my dad are constantly stressed from work to support me and my siblings. I will do anything to keep her from feeling less stressed.

So don't you DARE talk like this about my mom. Don't you DARE tell me to sell her possessions on ebay. All of her stuff, she worked hard for and had to struggle to get. I am not an ungrateful daughter that will be so childish like sell her things.

Family may upset me from time to time, but that does not give anyone a reason to talk shit or tell me to do pathetic things such like that.
