Peridot finds herkeeping vigil over an inert blue gemstone.

“Hi. Um... Nice to meetyou, I guess?”

Ruby says nothing, hereyes never leaving Sapphire.

Peridot hesitantly sitsbeside her. “Can I ask you something?”

Ruby nods.

“What’s it like beingfused all the time?”

Ruby gazes intoPeridot’s eyes, a wistful smile on her lips.

“Unlike anything.”

Peridot looks away tostare at her feet.

“D’you think I’ll beable to fuse someday?”

“You’ll get there whenyou’re ready.”

“...and if I am gemeticallyincapable?”

A small, warm handgrasps Peridot’s own.

“We won’t love you any less.”

This is a two-part drawing, if you will. 1: It's a fan fusion of Peridot and Ruby, specifically the Navy Ruby. 2: These two gems have my personality traits, so this is my gemsona as well. Please don't steal it. I've been having a rough time lately but I won't abandon all of you
