It seems like she’s skilled with swords and also collects swords. That probably had to do with Rose since Rose had a sword and shield. We’ll probably find out why she changed to spears. Maybe it’s cause she’s not someone’s knight anymore? Idk.

I think she’s always had spears as her summon weapon in her gem (Steven has Roses gem and still has her shield so) but she made a deliberate choice to study swordfighting and collect swords. I mean I guess it shows that the gems have their own hobbies I just want to know WHY. 

I’m guessing you’re right about being a knight though, she said she became familiar with the concept of knighthood so I guess she picked up sword fighting too?
