Yay more Felix stuff!
Part 2B: meeting Anton
Moving away from my favorite straight couple (Kishin and Irina) most days Felix was still helping out at Ruby’s market, when he wasn’t helping out, he’s usually in the back of the shop, working on his self assigned homework (since he technically doesn’t have a school, he tries to maintain some semblance of an education but it can be difficult sometimes, he has once lit a math textbook on fire out of frustration)
One day, Yudi had some stuff he had to deal with in Dulinovat, so he had his son, Anton visit Ruby in Cosmotellaris, thinking it would be good to get his son out of the house.
The pair met when Anton was standing on the ceiling, helping restock the high shelves when Felix turns into the aisle and runs straight into the kebula
After laughing at the boys, Ruby introduces the two, both parties are a little shy and awkward, Anton in particular
Throughout the day, they work together around the market, with awkward small talk until Anton saw Felix’s little study corner which was mainly notes on where to look for more info on constellations.
After asking Felix about it, the two quickly fall into detailed conversations, comparing all the things they know as they work.
That same evening, after Ruby closes up shop, they stay up all night just talking, their conversation had long since derailed from the constellations, simply talking about life, their hobbies, all sorts of things.
The next morning when Ruby checked the guest room, she was surprised to see that Felix was still here, and both boys were peacefully sleeping on the floor, they had made almost a nest of sorts from blankets and pillows and it was full of book and random things they were showing each other.
Ruby was delighted to say the least, Anton had a friend.
After that, Felix asked Ruby almost daily when would Anton come and visit again. Whenever he did come visit from Dulinovat, the two were inseparable, Felix showed Anton his favorite places in the capitol, the media museums, various shops and parks, but his favorite was the public library at the Aristotle Educational Institute, its normally where he went to learn when he couldn’t snag something from the sunlight academy.
His favorite spot there was the top floor, the observatory which was open to the public, giant domes inspired by ancient architecture from times nearly forgotten, large ionic marble pillars, paintings depicting almost every constellation imaginable. Easily one of the grandest buildings in the city.
When they got tired of walking, they typically went back to Ruby's to take a break (and snag some ice cream)
Anton would tell Felix about other nations he’s been to with his father, but mainly Dulinovat and what life was like there.
The two were close and told each other almost everything. For awhile, Anton was nervous about telling Felix that his father was THE Yudi Kazan, leader of Dulinovat and the midnight I
(I think that’s the right midnight…? My tumblr won’t load so I can’t check…)
Luckily, Felix took the news rather well. He was surprised of course, learning your best friend is basically a prince. But it also explained some of his friend’s unique abilities.
This would go on for another few months, Anton visiting, the two hanging out, a misadventure or two, then Anton would go home to Dulinovat.
The two quickly recognized patterns in the other, Felix would get upset when Anton scratched at his hands when he got anxious. So Felix made his friend a little stress toy shaped like a frog. It’s name is Leroy in case you were curious.
Anton would notice how the usually upbeat Felix would get antsy around bodies of water, so they tried to steer clear on their walks.
Whenever Anton came to Cosmotellaris, there was a guaranteed sleepover happening, whether it was at Ruby’s house or more recently, Sebastian’s tree house, Felix had introduced Sebastian to Anton and the three would hang out on occasion.
