“The festive stuff is actually good.” The words were out of her mouth before she could even think about them, her eyes focused on the display of candy corn beside the liquor. The stranger had been there a little while, or maybe she’d just circled around the candy section quickly. Time was an illusion after a night shift at the boathouse. “The wine, I mean. If you’re debating.” Or maybe she’d just shoved her foot in her mouth further by trying to justify speaking out loud. After the night at work she’d had, she almost didn’t care if she were to embarrass herself. Ruby had come close to purposefully spilling water on the lap of a man who’d actually had the balls to tell her to ‘earn her tip’. Stepping closer to the candy corn, she moved a few bags trying to find one left with chocolate pieces. Just the regular bag wasn’t going to cut it, she wanted the harvest mixture. @kaseyxreid
