28th December 2024, Saturday Listening: Valerie, Steve Winwood

Celebrating HH & Nins. It was a very cute reception because it started in the morning and ended before noon.

Later in the day I just did groceries and settled down on a lone dins at Zanmai to just, reflect. The day made me realize that it could probably be the last time I'd be seeing the .fm and though I am sad, this is the reality of my life right now.

I am still immensely thankful with the very few good friends I have left and most importantly, gege & my folks.

I am fully accepting the end of an era. It was a good run.

Stopped by Citta to buy some groceries and buah tangan for Aunty because Im returning the Tupperware she used to make the bihun for us a couple days ago for my Dad's party at the kebun. Quick dins with the 2121 of simple burger before entering Ikea to get the cabinet for my Mom but it's out of stock. Boooo. Ended the night at Gigi.

To recap the entire year seems impossible at the moment. I would need to read back this diary. One thing that I know for sure is I have been a lot closer to my folks. Hamdulillah.

Went to his favorite nasi Arab place at gege's for dins! I am grateful and blessed. I pray for his well being everyday 🤲🏼❤️

23rd December 2024, Monday Listening: Overload, Sugababes

My sister & her youngest daughter dropped by to pass presents for my Dad's birthday and my birthday in advance. They gifted me a paint-by-numbers canvas. It's so cute, I need to set aside time for it.

Anyway, was going through my spreadsheet of shoes. (Yes, I actually keep a list of my shoes.) Title: Shoes per wear 2024 Rationale: to ensure that I wear them enough to make the most out of the CPW (cost-per-wear)

OK so based on my chart above, with an exception of my Cortez which I bought in November so I didn't have that much wears to them yet, the 5 least worn shoes of the year (with an equal number of times worn: 6) are: 1. Sambae 2. Stan Smith J 3. Flyknit - not surprising. Im actually considering to sell these off however the fact that I wore this to BKK made me a bit sentimental over these. 4. Killshot 2 - shocker! because I genuinely love wearing them, so Im making a mental note to take these out more often. 5. Vans gum block - not surprising because I am over my Vans era (at least for now)

MOST WORN was hands down the ultimate: Stan Smith 80s! 🎉 These are the most expensive pair of sneaks that I've ever bought so that could also be a factor on why I wear them often because I wanted to make the CPW as low as possible 😅 BUT aside from that, they are surprisingly comfy. I've heard people complaining about their Stan Smiths biting their feet, but these gave me no problems at all. I think the leather for this 80s versh contributed to the comfort significantly. The prime green ones of my Stan Smith J just don't feel the same and they are still as rock-hard and not well worn-in even after several wears. I think if anyone asks me, I'd recommend getting the 80s leather ones. Even though they are pricier, they are worth it in the long run and such a joy to wear.

2nd place goes to Samba black (I wear this to work, mostly!) followed by Samba green in suede. I know Sambas are overrated, I even sold my white ones on Carousell (which was snapped up instantly!) but I foresee that the two that I have left would still be in heavy rotation because my narrow feet enjoys the "hug" that the Sambas give me.

The rest remained consistently worn at median 7 times each. I am trying to keep at my current number of pairs of shoes because I have also ran out of space in my little room.. My rule of thumb is if I do want to buy a new pair, I need to let go of an existing pair.

But I do have my eyes on the General so let's see if they will enter my life in 2025 😂

The bright side of having the Boss on leave is that the whole team are allowed to WFH everyday this week! 🥳

Spent the morning unboxing and setting up the basics on my new friend 🖤

I got the one in space black hehe.

The rest of my working day was spent doing my pending e-learnings for work and finished up the day with Thai Moment dins with Bubu! 🍲

Rant day! My car's acting up. Somehow the gear doesn't seem to work. So had to drive carefully to James, dad's usual foreman. He had to do the prelim work first and it costed me 500+ ringgit 💸

But on the plus side, I got to save money on my Dyson filter by buying a knock-off from Shoppee 😂

Yesterday came across a very cute skit on zakat reminder from LZS. Which was very apt because, pay your zakat, people!

Also posted the drawing I made on the gram which I actually finished late last night. I really enjoyed doing it!

For dins, we tried Baba Hur. I wouldn't be going there again. Very mediocre. Ended the day grocery shopping at Damas.

The week has been lovely, mainly contributed by the fact that we got to WFH all week hehe. Also I've started using my new M4 which is a breeze! Hamdulillah ❤️

Peak Karen behavior today as I insisted to get the new debit card even though the system is currently not catering for my type of request yet. But I mean, look at the cute card compared to the boring old plain one??

Because of my premature request, my account has been locked 😅What a day!

Lunk was Neighbowl with Sheebs & YY where I randomly bumped into azrl who was sitting at the next table! I got so excited (perhaps even TOO excited) because I haven't been socializing at all so when I finally met people outside of work, I immediately went full energizer bunny. Met his gf too & I might've talked too much but I couldn't help myself, they just made me ridiculously happy!

Did a bit of "reflecting" since the year is ending: 1. Health = Good. Regular menses. 2. Family = Happy. Househunting has been fun but Im putting it on hold (when the time comes, the time comes.). Been having regular Friday night dins at Gege's. Closer to my folks than ever. 3. Friends = Ghosted by a childhood friend. Regular friends have outgrown me. Managed to reach out to an old high school friend. Been closer to SKC girls than the childhood three. 4. ZA = Better communicashe. Gentler. 5. Work = ....same.

Managed to drag self out to get the car washed & saved a few ringgit thanks to my loyalty card.

Thankfully the week got better 😮‍💨

Also, new mac day! Finally went to TRX and the process took us less than 30 minutes. Traded my old 2018 mbp to m4 🥳

Afterwards we had late lunk at Pasadena for the best burger in our opinion. I cannot recommend them enough!

And then decided to watch the movie Babah even though my plan was to watch it next week. But I thought, what the heck, let's just go today and my Goddddd the movie made me bawl so hard 😂😭

I can't wait to setup my new mac once I have the time! Definitely the highlight of my week!
