Feyre looked up at her mate, blue eyes shining with love as she watched him for a minute. She'd never thought she would ever get such happiness. Even back in the humans lands, especially not during under the mountain and the aftermath.

She had thought that given her fresh immortality that she was destined to be miserable for the rest of her immortal existence. Then came Rhys swooping in after hearing her pleas to stop a wedding that no one else would safe her from. At the time she'd been pissed, but secretly relieved.

"Always." She told her mate softly, with Rhys, she wasn't the Cursebreaker, or just his mate, they were equals, partners in every sense. He would teach her where she didn't understand and train her so she wouldn't be left behind, locked in as a prisoner. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

"They do." He was so glad that the first of the children to be brought into the coven had finally found his mate. In hindsight, he saw his error in trying to manufacture a mate for Edward when he first changed Rosalie - though he loved Rosalie and didn't reject saving her - to be with Edward.

From seeing Rosalie find Emmett and then Alice and Jasper join them as a pair, and watching Edward and Bella start from nothing, he realised that he would never had been able to make one of his children a mate. They had to find it for themselves, even if it took over a hundred years to find. In the end, the wait is worth it. Just like the wait to have Esme in his life had been worth it.

"It makes me happy to see all our children happy." Because he did consider them all his children, even Bella now. "I feel a sense of peace knowing they have met their life partners."

Carlisle was reading the morning newspaper when his granddaughter appeared. While he and the rest of the family could not sleep, she could, so the family was used to morning pleasantries. "Good morning, did you sleep well?" he asked with a warm smile.

"Your grandmother has made some breakfast for you." he nodded towards the stove. Even despite the years of having Renesmee in their life Esme still cooked far too much, wanting to give the young dhampir plenty of choice when it came to human foods.

He had never thought he would be a grandfather, at least not in this capacity. So while it had been a worry for the first while after her birth, she was certainly a highlight of their existence.

Steve couldn't deny Diana a kiss if she wanted it; hell, he would've gladly initiated it. So he leaned in and kissed her passionately, smiling at her returning the kiss.

Like earlier. When she told her father that there was absolutely no way in which she was going to allow him to ban her from Hewn City. Just because he despised half the denizens that made up his Court, didn’t mean she did.

Besides, she was one day going to be her brother’s second in command. And as such she needed to know how everything functioned. Including the Court of Nightmares. Or so went the official story...

Unofficially...she kind of liked the club scene down there. With it’s complete lack of inhibition.

He gave a sheepish look to his mother having been caught red handed, not literally, he'd cleaned up before coming home. He'd always been a quiet child and that was something that stuck as he matured. However if his family was threatened or insulted, he was quick to anger. Like today while at the Illyrian War Camp's visiting friends who resided there, an asshole said something about his family, insinuated that Orion was probably a weak fighter, not realising he'd trained as an Illyrian just as his father had before him, all his life. "I got into a fight at one of the War Camps, you and father may get a letter from Devlon." he muttered.
