this i a painting dear to my heart... and stomach.
Big Mama's Chicken and Waffles. no words can describe how heart broken i was when she closed her drive through windows. i thought it was forever. then fate shown its splendor upon us all and a a "grand re-opening" sign appeared. i had to paint it because it filled me with such joy!

this is a "story of success", also, known as the "impression of a republican"
sorry it's such a horrible picture... i need a better camera

this was done based on a sketch i did while at the hospital... it means a lot to me, so i made a bigger version into this painting.
Love Canal was a neighborhood in Niagara Falls, New York. Hooker Chemical sold the site to the Niagara Falls School Board in 1953 for $1. In the mid-1970s Love Canal became the subject of attention after it was revealed that the site had formerly been used to bury 21,000 tons of toxic waste. The mostly middle-class families did not have the resources to protect themselves, and many did not see any alternative other than abandoning their homes at a loss.

this was based on a sketch i did at work on a post-it note. and then i found the half door thingy in the trash. it's inspired by 2 songs. Kids and Chemicals: out the window and Gordan Lightfoot's: wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
this ones called "Wendy" original art by me, R. Stephen Ruckel
