I’m still reflecting on the shows that made us for #WomensHistoryMonth! I know you didn’t think I would forget about #TheCosbyShow? You COULD NOT tell me that I was not #RudyHuxtable. 🤨(See photo in previous post 👀) This representation of a little brown girl, helped instill a sense of self confidence that I hold onto to this day. The character she played had a successful, beautiful & intelligent Mother. And 3 older Sisters to look up to, who’s styles and personalities were all different, but showed the world a wide range of #blackbeauty. I think most of us identified with at least one of them. Which one was it for you? ☺️ Honestly, It wasn’t until just a few years ago, that I accepted that my life was nothing like Rudy’s. In fact, none of their lives were much that way either. (Except maybe the glorious #phyliciarashad) I think what happened with #BillCosby kinda broke our hearts. 😔 But today, we’ll reflect on #browngirlbeauty. The extra ness of 80’s black hair & makeup! 💄 And this amazing show that so heavily influenced us to find the beauty in this thing called life. #thebeautyinfluencer #joytaughtme💋 #listentoblackwomen #clairhuxtable #denisehuxtable #blackbeautyblogger (at Joy University) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMjydOABwVt/?igshid=97rdpur0d0c7
