I got hit by a bus today while riding my bike! Luckily, I only got a couple of scratches! My knee still hurts and it has a larger scratch! But don’t worry! I’m alright and I’ll be walking normally on a couple of days God willing! Thank the Lord!

Maybe the authors only wrote the books in ableist narrative because on the WC universe it's the way things go. People say in nature it's "survival of the fittest". Since Warrior Cats are cats in the wild, they too might follow that philosophy. So that would be the cats' culture, not necessarily the authors' beliefs. Again, I haven't read the books and I don't know the authors, so I might be missing out on some things you know and therefore make a mistake. Sorry if I said anything bad.
Survival of the fittest does not mean survival of the physically strongest. it means most fit for their environment. in the warrior cats universe these cats behave like humans with highly structured societies that care for their sick and elderly in communities. In our communities, which warrior cats is clearly modeled on, when someone is blind, that does not relegate them to live in a nursing home for the rest of your life.
In the world of warrior cats the idea of psychic time travelling cats does not break ones suspension of disbelief, but the idea a blind cat could be a warrior or a deaf cat could live a fulfilling life, apparently, does seem unrealistic, despite the fact blind or deaf cats are perfectly capable of living feral lives in real life.
