Welp didn't get a room at Kalahari for colossalcon next year, but I also didn't have $300 to put down for a deposit either. To me not a big deal, it's kind of become a tradition to camp in the parking lot. Last year we slept in the back of my car, this year we borrowed my dad's truck and slept in the back. My point is, if you don't get a room there are other ways to stay at Kalahari. If you know someone with a van, truck or some kind of vehicle that the seats can fold down you have a room for the night. It's kind of fun actually, we were able to stay close to the doors so we didn't have far to walk when we were utterly exhausted, not to mention you don't have to unpack since everything is right there. I do recommend turning your car on at least once a day to keep the battery from dying, and bring a battery fan as well as extra blankets. It gets really cold at night even in June.
