Miss Fisher’s second ensemble of “Blood and Circuses” (Season 1, Episode 11) consists of her printed blouse and navy skirt from earlier, paired with her matching navy ruffled coat and blue straw hat.
Her navy wool coat features a series of cascading ruffles on either side from her pockets down to the hem. Her loose sleeves also have ruffle details cut on the bias from below her elbow to the cuff. The coat has two attached ties connected to her collar that Phryne wears loose.
The knee-length skirt looks to be made from the same fabric, with pressed pleats on either side of her hip to add movement. She accessorizes with black leather gloves, grey Mary Jane heels, and a matching grey leather handbag.
Phryne wears a new hat as she and Samson go to speak to Inspector Robinson, a dark navy hat of finely woven straw. The hat has a wide ribbon hatband, with matching binding on the edge. Its decoration is a curious collection of iridescent turkey feathers and a 1950′s show ornament.
The coat and skirt can be seen in “Murder in Montparnasse” (1x07), and the hat reappears in “King Memses’ Curse” (1x13).
