Rufous Sibia
April 27, 2016 - Rufous Sibia, Black-capped Sibia, or Black-headed Sibia (Malacias capistratus)
Found in parts of Pakistan, Nepal, southwestern China, Bhutan, and northeastern India, these sibias live in temperate forests of the Himalayas. They eat insects, berries, and some nectar from plants including rhododendrons and silk-cotton trees. Both parents build the cup-shaped nests from green moss, dry grasses and leaves, and rootlets.
