November 4, 2021 - Black-headed Sibia (Heterophasia desgodinsi)
These sibias are found in mountain forests in parts of China, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. They eat insects, berries, and nectar, foraging in trees in pairs or small groups and also joining mixed-species flocks. Breeding from April to August, females lay clutches of one to three eggs and incubate them alone. Both parents feed the chicks. Though classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, their population is thought to be declining due to habitat destruction and fragmentation.
