Knight in Shinning Armor
"... Medieval armor?" Rui tips his head to one side as you proudly lug the hunks of metal up to him. "Y/N, if you want me to be your knight in shining armor that badly, all you had to do was ask~"
"It's not just any old armor--it's anomalous," you explain, brushing off his attempts at flirtation. "It's too big for me, so you have to put it on. Quickly."
"Okay," he chuckles at your insistence. "What is its anomaly?"
"It shields against any anomalous powers," you answer, handing him the helmet.
"That's neat. It would make it safer for me to walk around with this, but I don't think it would be very practical." When he has finished putting on everything, he wobbles awkwardly under the metal to face you. "Well? Don't I look dashing?"
You snort at his antics. "It's not for you to walk around in, Rui."
"Then what's it for?"
"This." Before he can react, you pounce onto him, enveloping him in a hug.
"Y/N! YOU CAN'T--" Rui panics on instinct and tries to pry you off of him until he realizes you aren't disappearing into dust.
"Y-Y/N..? You're okay?"
"Yes, Rui. I'm okay. I can hug you and still be okay," you assure him.
Gingerly, he brings his arms around you. "I can hug... you?"
"Yes, Rui. Yes, you can."
"I can... Hug..."
A small giggle escapes you as you reach to lift up his visor. To no surprise his eyes were brimmed with tears.
"I... I can feel you," he sobs. "Your warmth... I can feel it through the metal..."
"And I can feel yours," you reply, leaning into him as tears roll down your own cheek.

Rui falls asleep for the first time in years that night, exhausted from crying. When he wakes up, he scolds you for your reckless behavior. Of course, you apologize with another hug.
