Waves crashing against one another was the only other sound from the quiet footsteps in the dark of night. The tension that’s present seems to only get worse when the walking figures started to hear demanding voices from ahead that caused them to halt. The bigger figure crouched down as he whispered to smaller one. “Durra we need to take another path or we’ll get in trouble.” He pulled her between the narrow alley way in docks hoping that safety wouldn’t leave them.
“We are almost there, hang on.” Her uncle told her.
They could finally see the outline of the ship as get closer. Although she wants to feel relief she can’t until she on the boat half way to her destination. After fifteen minutes they reach the boat where two men are standing in front boarding ramp. “Did you run into them?” One of the men asked her uncle. “No. We almost did.” He replied as they hurried to get on the big ship. One of the men signalled to the to crewmen while the other one started talking to her uncle again.
By then she has started to zone out due to her lack of sleep in the last day to get here. She only caught on to few sentences that were “we’re setting sail in few minutes,” and “we will be out of the territory before sunrise.” The last sentence bringing comfort to her in this dire situation.
Yawn
Durra suddenly felt pulled out of her daze by the hand was dragging into what looked like a room, that had some net looking things hanging from ceiling. Her uncle put her on one of them with a blanket to cover her.
“Get some sleep, I’ll wake you up once we are safe.”
