📑 Favorite part of your muse’s backstory?
This isn’t really like a specific “part” of his backstory per se, but the difference in personality between pre-failed-rebellion Katsuie and post-failed-rebellion Katsuie cracks me up every time. XD Past!Katsuie is this terribly confident (bordering on overconfident) young man who won’t shut up about how the Oda clan (and especially its leader, Nobunaga) is all-powerful and will one day conquer everything. He also has a huge sense of entitlement, which leads to him later trying to kill his boss (Nobunaga) to try to become king. Not to mention how he feels entitled to another man’s wife, as well. XD Meanwhile, Default!Katsuie…has pretty much given up. Like, on everything. He hardly even speaks, and even when he does, he only makes some sort of creepy yokai-related comment, or he moans about how he’s in despair because of his poor life choices. Past!Katsuie and Default!Katsuie seem like almost completely different characters at times, although they definitely have their similarities —– they’re both envious and greedy people, they both have a huge sense of entitlement when it comes to certain things / people, etc.
📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse?
I was trying to think of a less creepy headcanon, and one that you haven’t heard before, but…the one that I keep thinking about is this one: Modern!Katsuie has a stalker shrine for Oichi hidden in the back of his closet. It has a few framed pictures of her, along with personal items of hers that either she has lost or that Katsuie has taken or copied in some fashion —– e.g. a couple pencils of hers, a home economics sewing project that she made several months ago, a handkerchief that she dropped by accident (Katsuie would clean it later), a copy of her school report from last term, a few hair accessories of hers, etc. Nothing as weird as a half of a sandwich that she ate or her fingernail clippings or something, but still —– they’re all items that Katsuie definitely shouldn’t have in his possession under any circumstances. It’d be interesting to see how Katsuie would react if someone found that stalker shrine someday and confronted him about it, especially if they’re his friend or his lover. XD If Katsuie somehow fell out of love with Oichi and in love with someone else, I can see him dismantling and throwing away the stalker shrine for Oichi, if he ends up in a deep, serious relationship that lasts for at least a few months with the other person. But there’s a big risk that he’ll eventually just end up replacing Oichi’s stalker shrine with a stalker shrine dedicated to his new lover… XD
