hey. two big things here:

rules are: no vents. this type of ask is the most common violation of this rule. stop.

i need you to take a second here and recognize that this is a trauma based thought, and also a self-fulfilling prophecy. some people would do it regardless, but when you cast someone into a role, you're likely acting on it just as much as you feel they are. it also would suck to be a friend and hear someone expects that of you if they don't have the context of it as trauma. again, recognize this is not something you're totally in control of, but you can RESPOND and ACT based on the knowledge that trauma =/= reality.

Ways to respond to this: one, recognize it as a cognitive distortion. look em up. take some time considering how it may feel true, but the brain's pattern making is designed to keep you from immediate threats, so it is often easier to store and refer back to bad experiences. challenge yourself to think of good ones. challenge yourself to talk to your friends about struggling with this thought, and how you might approach them if it does feel like they pull away during a new relationship. challenge yourself to expand your social network so that even if it does happen, you have more people. and also... if they do stop talking to you, challenge if it's a healthy relationship for you.
