There are some that hypothesize that the vikings brought the alcoholic staple with them when they plundered and eventually settled the northern reaches of the British Isles. This was an Innis & Gunn Rum Aged Beer aged with rum oak chips. It came in at 6.8% ABV. This was a gift from a friend. The rum showed up early along with some malt. It's sweet at the start & through the middle. There's a kick of rum alcohol in the aftertaste, but it's brief. As I drank it, there was some slight berry flavor coming through. This was a really good beer!
